Judge George Greer ruled that the State of Florida has no right to take custody of Terri Schiavo, which ruling came hours after an appeal by Terri's parents to re-insert the feeding tube was refused by the U.S. Supreme Court.

Meanwhile, another hearing was scheduled tonight before US District Judge James D. Whittemore .. the same judge who previously heard and denied the request subsequent to the 'de novo' intention of the law past last weekend by the Congress and signed by President Bush, in an effort to confirm that no stone was left unturned before Terri would endure legally sanctioned dehydration until death.

If you notice that was from the Senate. The one from the House is a full blown subpoena.

My card doesn't say anything either, but it was specified at registration. (To answer the next question: we're doggone good at crosschecking things around here.) I'm laughing now remembering helping my dad re-register when he moved here. I tried to get him to say independent, since specifying a preference would ethically support whatever candidate they ran, no matter how bad. He was so mad at Clinton that he wouldn't hear of it.

If you mean will I vote for the incumbent Sanford, no, I won't. The reason, again, simply, is because I meant what I said.

I'm sure the many Terri supporters declaring their 3rd party preference here meant what they said too. Principle means more to them than flailing around inside a failed two-party system. They're people who put honor, conscience and morality first, ahead of all else. If one compromises with an evil as great as the one we face, then one throws those away. And without those things, one has nothing.

And that likely exceeds my rant quota for today....

I can't wait to leave the Republican Party - the Party of JEB BUSH who turned his back on our little Sister in her most desperate hour of need. He had the power but wimped out. No excuse! The Dems will feel it too. Terri has awakened many on that side to just how evil the forces of death are and see their party as a sham, too. Perhaps a new coalition of sorts is forming over this issue. Why not? The question of whether humans have intrinsic value, or are disposable units, is the biggest issue ever.

Here's the next move of the Death Demons: They'll next try to overturn living wills/advance directives that specify a patient should get food and water. They'll say that since the law calls food and water medical treatment, such directives contradict the law.

It'll be a quiet, hardly noticed civil case. They'll call such directives "illegal contracts". Once they get that precedent, they'll have a free hand to kill at will.

Watch for it.
