Judge George Greer ruled that the State of Florida has no right to take custody of Terri Schiavo, which ruling came hours after an appeal by Terri's parents to re-insert the feeding tube was refused by the U.S. Supreme Court.
Meanwhile, another hearing was scheduled tonight before US District Judge James D. Whittemore .. the same judge who previously heard and denied the request subsequent to the 'de novo' intention of the law past last weekend by the Congress and signed by President Bush, in an effort to confirm that no stone was left unturned before Terri would endure legally sanctioned dehydration until death.
I've not heard anything about the 11th circuit.
Yes, there is, including the season.
Where did you hear Atlanta turned them down? I heard Whittemore did.
Most excellent!
Fri, 3/25/05: it's over.
They're intent upon killing Terri, and are beating us. They're winning. They own the judicial infrastructure, built over the past 4-5 decades. We don't have a chance. We're out-manned and out-gunned, this time.
Liberal-progressive-socialist-commie-nazi-subhuman-garbage-filth, are our masters. They own the MSM, local gov't, state gov't, all the courts, and ultimately: US.
Are you worried/scared/locking&loading, yet?
I am.
Yeah, Lanny Davis, what a religious zealot, huh?
And JJ, well, who would have thought he or any of these others would actually come down on Terri's side.
ROTFLMAO! Yeah, I like the way y'all think. ;)
Seems it was pretty hard to fight partial birth abortion too.
They were very nice and apologetic. They have no authority in Terri's case.
onan earlier post. don't know which appeal they were referring to though.
Just Whittmore. Then I posted link to msnbc report that says still waiting for 11th and also emergency ruling filed with greer (yes, again) who will rule at noon tomorrow.
It's much harder to swallow coming from the GOP State Senator's office.
For real?!? Lemme guess, hino is so guilty he can't take the chance that ashes will somehow tell his crime so he has to spread them on his own private property? Is he so filled with hate he can't even give her to her family after death? He was a control freak during her life and he will control her in death.
I like to imagine Terri being in charge of HINO'S eternal judgement.
I want to thank all of you who responded to my heartfelt concerns. You all offered such insightful comments and Hamilton, I can understand your concerns. It's a very uneasy thought to think that perhaps things are, well, not what we may have originally thought. Time will tell all things.
Awestruck, blessed are the peacemakers. You are a peacemaker with spine to tell the truth and I admire that.
PC93, thanks so much for your organization of contact information and alerts here.
Graymatter, I've passed along some of your thoughts to a friend of mine and she wanted me to thank you, so there's no time like the present. ;o)

He could be in front of the nation dispelling each and every lie the media has put forth to the American public. He could be telling the world Terri's side. He could be denouncing Greer, hino, and Felos. But no, he's eating dinner right now with his family behind the closed doors of the most powerful house in Florida - make that the second most powerful with the first being the Greer Reaper's courtroom."
That is something I had not thought about at all. Yes, you're right. What an example it would set if both the president and the governor were more actively making statements in support of life. If they truly are prolife then it seems this would be a perfect opportunity to influence people for good. But instead there's an eery silence (overall) that creates tension for us all.
Type_Fists (sorry, can't recall exact spelling) - the fact that there are both Republicans and Democrats failing to feel empathy for this innocent dehydrating woman is telling. Do you know if Zell Miller has commented on this yet? I will say for the record that while I will be leaving the Republican party over this, I would never touch the Democrat because their platform openly states they are not prolife. Maybe they're more honest than some Republicans?
Bump.
Respectfully, I disagree. He could still grant clemency, take her into protective custody, etc.
If Jeb's hands are tied this easily, it means that the courts have the definitive authority in Florida.

I think many of us share that fantasy... don't get me started...
not that I've heard...still praying for miracles.. my husband told me last nite I looked like I needed a drink! LOL!
Frankly I think what I need is a bottle of wine and a box of Sees! (that's really good candy to you Sees deprived parts of the country)
Well I am still praying too...I had to sleep some, my neck was so stiff from sitting at the computer that I had to lay with the heating pad, but I feel somewhat better now and ready for another night...by the way, I love See's...we order it online from here (Chicago area).
