Whatever M. Schiavo is or isn't Greer isn't acting like a mere arbiter of the law.

SCOTUS was never going to take this unfortunately. The saddest part of this whole deal IMHO is her legal team was way over their head and should have called in much bigger guns when it was going into federal court. Somebody has some egos it looks like and my finger is pointing at Randall Terry.

I knew it was doomed last night when Steve Centani (sp) from Fox News was talking about the mistakes in the pleading to the SCOTUS. Torie called up on a radio show (I heard him BTW not knowing who he was) yelling that her attorneys left out some information on their appeal and they needed to put that in the pleading.

Apparently Greer controls this entire case....

Greer thinks he controls the entire state, as well. I'm frankly tired of hearing about "respect for the rule of law" applied only to judicial decisions. Some of these judges have zero respect for the other branches of government. Where is their "respect for the rule of law"? The judicial branch does not trump every other branch. So how does the judiciary get to ignore a subpoena and effectively ignore the law as written and passed by Congress? Funny how you seldom hear criticism that judges don't "respect the law" when they thumb their noses at other branches of government. The judiciary is not a branch with veto power over the other two.

That's a lot coming from an extremely liberal analyst like Turley.

He looks very much like Scott Peterson.

They're both males with brown hair & occasionally sport a goatee?

It has come to "legality over humanity." Mancow's expression on Fox and Friends this morning.

Kennedy was a big mistake on Pres. Reagan's part He should have kept renominating Bork until the libs finally got the message.

It's now up to Jeb Bush. Let's see if Jeb's got the courage to do the right thing. If he doesn't, his political career will be over as far as I'm concern.

Riot? Over this? Are you kidding?

You sound like the DUmmies I read about in the Dummie Funnies... I don't like what's going on so let's riot!! That will change everything.

And then when people get killed in the riot (and that would definitely happen) how would you reconcile that with your Choose Life beliefs? Your riot would have directly led to the deaths of innocent people. Not to mention the loss of property that would affect everyone in the area.

County Sherriffs are typically Constitutional Officers and as such have more authority than any State Police do.

Good question, the Sheriff is the highest ranking law enforcement officer in his/her county. They answer to the people that elected them only.

I have a feeling that is Jeb is on the verge of political suicide, if he helps Terri at all.

Oh right. The way his brother committed political suicide by invading Iraq. The voters deplore leaders with the courage of their convictions, don't they? If he stands up to the black-robed death legions he will quickly become a national hero.

So you'll never set foot in Florida again because of a couple liberal judges.

Shame on you. There's many hundreds of good Florida freepers down here that have been valiantly fighting the good fight. Many have jobs that depend on the tourist trade.

I see you were planning a Florida vacation "later this year. Why didn't you plan a trip here to stand shoulder to shoulder with Florida freepers when you were needed?
