"They are very mature and they said 'we want to go and offer some water to Terri'."
Pinellas Park police Lt. Kevin Riley, second from left, handcuffs 14-year-old Josie Keys, left, while Pinellas County Sheriff's deputies place her father Chris in the back of a van after arresting members of the family for trespassing Wednesday morning March 23, 2005 outside the Woodside Hospice in Pinellas Park, Fla. The family members were attempting to bring Terri Schiavo a cup of water.
Gabriel Keys (foreground) is arrested by police officers for trespassing in Pinellas Park, Florida, March 23, 2005. The young protester attempted to take a glass of water into the Woodside Hospice for the brain-damaged Terri Schiavo. A federal judge rejected a request from the parents of Schiavo to order her feeding tube reinserted, dealing a blow to attempts by the U.S. Congress and the White House to prolong her life.
What's REALLY going to suck is if, somehow, someway, today Jeb Bush managed to take her into custody of the social services, and she died while in state custody - then we'll hear everyone blame Bush, etc...
This thing is far from over, regardless of the outcome. Our nation will pay for this, either way, and it ain't gonna be pretty.
I put some time and thought into my response to you and in return, got "yeah, yeah ..."
After that, I didn't read anymore of what you had to say.
Great, so Greer's already got blood on his hands. Now he's going to add Terri's.
Anyone know who appointed this sweetheart?
You know, I really gained a lot of respect for you with your eloquent pro-Terri posts over the last week or so, and then you had to go and hijack this thread with nonsense like that.
I'm sure you realize that most of us "border vigilantes" are on your side in this case. The next few days may be very trying for us Terri supporters. We need to stick together as there is so much misinformation coming from the pro-death side.
"After that, I didn't read anymore of what you had to say."
That's funny- that was my reaction reading your post!
Sorry to bother you, now you can get back to planning your "Terri's dead" party.
" Sorry to bother you, now you can get back to planning your "Terri's dead" party"
And you can go back to being an ignorant jackass who has no idea that I am in favor of Terri being released to her parents, no matter how many times I've typed it in all Terri threads.
No Bob I never said there was a direct quote from anyone nor did I make the claim there was one...the "same people" part of my comment probably...so you would understand more clearly...SHOULD have said "the same TYPE of people"..I was a general comment on the attitude of some people in the thread not a claim of a direct comment.
You have your child and adolescent psych all mixed up. It is the later teens who are extremely self-absorbed...age 16 to 20.
Children from age 10 to 15 are very altruistic, and have been at the center of many charitable and kind efforts. From 12 year-olds handing out blankets to homeless people, to 14 year-old Candy Stripers, to 13 year-old volunteers at the local Food Bank.
You greatly underestimate the beautiful character of many young teens...most of them Christian children raised in a truly Christian environment.
no I had a sarcasm off tag on and i must have made it too close to a real html tag, because it didin't show up onj the original post. sorry about making your blood boil .My fault.
Bull back to you! Would you give up your job because someone you don't know is doing something idiotic?
If so, get in your car and go down and give that woman some water. If your boss objects to your being gone and you get fired, too bad for you.
Because I have no other way to take it. I cannot sit 500 miles away and judge her any other way.
Having children yourself, you must know that children at that age are remarkably self absorbed.
I don't know that I go along with that statement 100%, at least as far as my kids ( and most of their friends ) go.
If it is true, than they have been brainwashed from a very early age
Please define "brainwashed" in the context of this subject. And how "brainwashed" differs from being brought up "properly" i.e. caring about other humans....
What does this stupid post have to do with your original stupid post or my reply?
AOK, I thought you were making an accusation about some of us on this thread.
I actually know the Keys, They are homeschooling fundamentalist christians. I honestly believe the children chose to go w/ there father. Their mother was standing there too, w/ the baby sister, they could have stayed w/ her. They wouldn't push them as some stunt. Their family drove all the way to florida from Burnet texas for Terry.

Yesterday or the day before (I'm so tired I can't think) I heard a quote from the brave boy.
He said something like:
"I wanted to give Terri some water because it was what I think God would want me to do".
My heart melted! If I had a son, I would want him to be just like him. Please thank him and his family for me. Tell them we here at FR are very proud of them all.
Thanks for posting this to me.
