Trying to stay informed.

I lurk a lot.

Retired, spending time protecting my trees and property from the power company and others with eminent domain powers.

My husband has gotten state legislation changed concerning oversight of the power company and has them over a barrel in a court action.

The Georgia constitution basically gave the power company ownership of all property. They had gotten used to just taking what they want when they want.

We lost our fight and they took the land, paid a pittance, devalued the rest of the property and thought we would go away.

It's been over 10 years, thousands of dollars, thousands of hours (more expensive than money) but my husband has not gone away.

The power company has bought out one of the law firms we were using and "discouraged" a few of our expert witnesses. We are still waiting for our jury trial.

Needless to say, this old retired lady is so proud of her husband.
