I wrote this to a FReeper earlier. She was feeling much frustration with many here I believe because of what was, in her mind, a careless disregard for morality and the well-being of an innocent and quite defenseless girl, Terri Schiavo.
The intelligent and good FReeper was at the point of wanting to leave FR. So I wrote her:
*****
Don't go, please. You're one of the folks here with a real good heart and very strong feelings. That is a very good combination. Don't go ........
I'm getting a feeling (or a wish) that today (Wednesday) the Federal marshals or some others are going to take control of this abysmal situation. Unlike the Elian Gonzalez catastrophe, this will be for the good of a human being.
Maybe in the future it can be referred to as 'Good Wednesday'. Because the more I learn about this entire case, this girl has been done wrong since the very beginning and things must be righted. What is happening now must end....... well.
*********
I implore all who care about the wrongness of all this to contact the White House, contact anyone who could have something to do with getting action TODAY. There can not be any more wasted time and destruction of this innocent girl. If this husband is much of what we suspect, this matter should not be allowed to end in her death by these brutal means!
Lord, give Terri strength to go on. Be her strength. Let her understand that her suffering is causing an awakening in America and even the world. Give her joy and patience, a fruit of the Holy Spirit.
Thank You for that extra cerebral spinal fluid that is in her brain, protecting it from fast dehydration!!
Only You can cause our hearts to repent and turn to You and turn away from our sins. Please be gracious and merciful for the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, Amen.
PS and get Terri to say "I WANT TO LIVE"
Now I could be mistaken about this. Anyone know any FL FReepers who could jump in with some solid info?
Amen
Could Gov. Bush look up and find an unsolved murder from back when Terri was a teen and charge her with it. The supreme Court made it illegal to kill teen murders.
Could something like that save Terri?
--------
Yep
Thank you ..............
As an innocent woman is killed.
When doctors treat a disease that has been creeping up on you for awhile they don't use "steady, incremental progress" to treat it. Instead, they blast the hell out of it with antibiotics/radiation/whatever treatment they deem necessary.
One of Sean Hannity's brightest moments. He came extremely well prepared for the interview and the other thing he brought out was that the "good doctor" thought that alzheimer patients should never be put on feeding tubes. He also brought out how this doctor is the one holding the balloon over Terri's head and told her "good job, keep it up, you are doing great" (and he admitted "talking to a vegetable")
These guys are willing to lie through their teeth to have this woman killed.
What's happening to Terri, IMHO, is just a continuation of what we've allowed for years, the killing of innocents.
We protest abortion clinics the same way Terri's death is being protested.
We write letters and emails, we stand outside clinics (courts have mandated the distance), hold up signs, and hope for change.
At this point, the only way to effect change is to replace the judiciary by increasing Conservatives in the Congress and continuing to hold the Presidency. This is a slow process, but until judicial activism is replaced on the bench with judicial conservatism, we can expect these types of decisions. (and unfortunately, as in the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, we learned that just because a judge is appointed by a Republican doesn't mean things will always tend toward "life.")
Free Republic is still valuable... the same can't be said anymore for the Parties.
At least they have handed me the perfect rejoinder to all those annoying fundraising calls we are plagued with:
"Impeach a few rogue Judges, then we can talk about contributions..."
expat,
I'd love to think you are right, but I have a feeling in the pit of my stomach that it wouldn't make a bit of difference to the majority of Americans if someone was killed trying to give Terri a cup of water.
******
Excellent.
Our politicians have been going through the motions of legislating to give themselves political cover on this case. I have heard the excuse "We're doing all we can" when I have called my representatives. This is not true. Politicians created this mess with their laws and judicial appointments. If the Bush administration wanted to, they could find some justification for protecting her right not to be ordered to death by a corrupt judiciary and media. If Bush can hold a citizen in prison for over two years without a criminal charge then they can figure out a way to save Terri from being killed by liberal political elites. Opinion polls obviously do not matter to Bush since he is perfectly willing to continue an open borders/non-enforcement of immigration laws policy in defiance of overwhelming public opinion. We shouldn't let them use this excuse. This woman must be saved and it is up to our political leaders to do it.
There is a demonic horde in the country who are enthusiastically cheering for Terri's death and they are far more vocal than we. They have the power. It is their brethren in black robes on the bench dispensing death. They are of their father and they are legion.
I believ that this case has a lot of us on edge. My primary hope is that Terri is rescued from her husband and has a chance at recovery. My secondary hope is that this case is the final wake-up call that alerts the US to the fact that the liberals and RATS have declared open war, not just political war on America and the principles that she was founded upon.
Deep down I always bought the Dem claim that they really cared for the people, the individuals, the victims. No more. I have not heard a peep from them. This will be on their heads.
Where is Carter? Bill or Hillary Clinton? Where is General Powell?
Rudy Guiliani should go there. Oliver North. Paul McCartney. Arnold.
Alan Dershowitz on CNN guy just said "They're handling it like they do a death case." No, they least those criminals have water.
But get this: he is saying he might himself side with the parents and that it's better to error on the side of life! And that brings out the infobabe's horns.
-----------
Yes, the media is America's worst enemy! And yes, quite a disgusting stench that (seemingly) this White House and administration seems to be allowing during this Easter week.
I cannot believe G.W. doesn't do what is necessary. I still believe that he will do the moral thing................ today!
Not to disagree, but I don't think they are lying. I think they really believe they're right and are deluded and blind to what is right in front of their noses.
Sean Hannity was great last night and really made the doctor look like a fool. I too was impressed by how he extracted the other evil intentions of the "good" doctor to starve alzheimer patients (an probably anyone else the left deems as unworthy of life...since they themselves are the only gods they know, they must make these choices).
Well then, who down in Florida is willing to get shot?
Yes, but this entire mess has no place in the courts. It is a FAMILY matter, and her husband is not a blood relative. As soon as he decided 'for her' to die, custody should automatically revert to her parents.
I posted to another thread that this event has too many Biblical similarities (especially timing) to be mere coincidence. I'm glad that others see it as well. She may have been God's test of our nation's stance on Good vs. Evil. If so, we've failed at this point. If she is murdered, I don't want to hear any more of this "compassionate conservative" crap. Compassion my ass. I'm afraid this event could revulse my loyalties to their foundations, causing a re-evaluation of my party affiliation. I doubt that I'm alone in that.
At what point do we find anyone in government that tells the truth? I honestly thought the president was such a man. I haven't given up on him yet - but time is running out.
