Terri Brother ..................Terri early on in a hospice .................. Michael has let his wife deteriate!
Compare the early Hospice Photo
At this time Terri was able to chew and swallow and was learning to use the pararall bars to walk again...as soon as the malpactice law suit was won Michael Schiavo remember his wife wanted to die...so he would move her from one location to another every time they thought she was ready to start rehab again!
Lets try to have the same page to fight the MISLEADING OUT THERE!
That's an outright lie. She left the hospital with a feeding tube, for goodness sake. And failed the swallow tests for the next three years after which I think they stopped giving them.
Funny, the BTK killer won't face the death penalty since it wasn't the law at the time of the alleged crimes.
On a personal note, Mo1, having read your previous post, I feel the same way. My heart breaks that I am witnessing my country placing the higher burden of proof on those who want her to live. We don't even have evidence that would meet the standards necessary for a criminal conviction and yet there are those who seem comfortable to waive that and create a new standard...quality of life. And it's sad to see some of my more favorite posters here seem to agree.
That nurse who was on FNC this morning...have you seen the posts from reliable freepers who say she is an LPN who worked with Terri from 1995 for fourteen months. She was fired in 1996 for, among other things, claiming that another nurse at that facility was killing patients; her claims about Schaivo were reported to the police and they investigated and found NOT CREDIBLE.
Why didn't those nurses testify under oath? Why didn't they approach Terri's parents and ask to testify in 2002? If not before, of course.
Oh, lysie. There is simply no comparison for people who are PVS and who are on dialysis or have a bag. None.
Those people lead normal lives. And the state of Florida and various states don't consider them life saving equipment. I understand without that equipment they would die, but it's not within the medical lexicon.
I just heard her on Hannity and she was far from convincing imo.
Back at you, Peach---
I think we all just want the best for Terri, we are just coming at it a different way---
Freepers make the best friends--doncha know?
It was one of dozens of things I used to make my determination. Let's agree to disagree.
I've now see where freepers are equating being on dialysis as the same thing as being PVS and should be put them to death too.
This is a sad place that people have come to use such baseless arguments to make their case. I'm not saying you've done that, but the baselessness of most of the arguments is almost obscene in and of itself.
(((Txsleuth)))
You have freepmail too.
Heavenly Father - we humbly beseech Thee on behalf of our little sister, Theresa Marie Schiavo. We pray for protection and comfort and that life-giving nutrition and hydration be restored to her - In Jesus Christ's Precious Name. Amen.
I feel a little tripidation too.....
I think it is possible some of the stuff she says is true, but immature in how to relate the episode....her personal bias shows
Last time, God waited 'til the last minute to save Terri and I think He's doing the same this time. Why does He wait 'til the last minute? Maybe He's giving people time to think about Terri and choose life in their hearts for her. God is watching all of us, I believe. Will we choose life or death?
I know that Peach. I was answering this,
But their families have heard them say they don't want to live on machines. Who does?
Years ago when all dialysis and bags were new medical treatments, I'm sure there were many people saying , "I don't want to end up like that".
That's my point. New medical treatments in years to come.
I never equated the two. I was answering the question "who wants to be on machines" and if I knew people who were. Feeding tubes are, imo, the same as a bag and dialysis.
Now that we have narrowed that down I think it leaves just the PVS issue not "I don't want to be like that" issue... meaning on machines.
Understand?
Amen.
I've now see where freepers are equating being on dialysis as the same thing as being PVS and should be put them to death too
*****
I am trying to find the meaning of PVS all I get is
pigmented villonodular synovitis

Is this correct?

It sounds like something I have I have arthritis and need knee replacements...
You are a picky crowd of who should live!:)
Thank you
God knows and so do many of us acknowldge that she is not a Vegetable!
Bio
Kate Adamson was totally paralyzed by a severe double brainstem stroke on June 29, 1995. One day she was active, vibrant, physically fit, happy mother of two toddlers. The next morning she was in intensive care completely paralyzed. She was totally trapped in her body screaming, silently, helplessly. Soon after the stroke, she became aware that she could blink. From there, is a remarkable story of her recovery. She is now reaching out to people on behalf of Terry Shiavo, who is in a condition very similar to what she experienced. http://www.katesjourney.com/

And the key words are "soon after the stroke".
Terri is now 15 years after cardiac arrest and resulting PVS and has never been able to blink her eyes or apply pressure to someone's hand on command. Ever.
LOL.
No PVS -- google Permanent Vegatative State.
