Terri Brother ..................Terri early on in a hospice .................. Michael has let his wife deteriate!
Compare the early Hospice Photo
At this time Terri was able to chew and swallow and was learning to use the pararall bars to walk again...as soon as the malpactice law suit was won Michael Schiavo remember his wife wanted to die...so he would move her from one location to another every time they thought she was ready to start rehab again!
Lets try to have the same page to fight the MISLEADING OUT THERE!
I agree! I think that the Schindlers are lobbying the Flordia legislature to pass a law stating something to the effect that a person without a living will cannot be denied food and water. Does anyone know if there is any chance of this passing in time to save Mrs. Schiavo? Actually, I would go even further, and deny that people even have the right to forgo food an water even with a living will. That's a whole other discussion, though. I'm sure that is a highly controversial stance, but that is also why the legislatures should handle it.
that was a reply to sola_fide
this is not the Wolfson report it is a report if they just pass out how did they get all that damage when her Husband the Nurse, found her?
It would be easier to just outlaw Florida. It is a constant source of irritation.
Elian, Terri, Bush2000. Need I say more?
Exactly!
The not allowing even the attempt at providing any nutrition/hydration orally is the ultimate 'dividing line'.

Thanks again!
Save the sarcasm and condescension. I'm an engineer. I've been in the diagnostic imaging business for well over 20 years. I own my own company, if I didn't know imaging I would have been out of business a long time ago.
Let me be more blunt. Stop lying about what that CT image shows.
How do you even know that was her CAT scan?
And how do I know you are what you say you are? It's the internet for crying out loud, which is why I've been relying on court testimony vs. some of the crazy stuff out there.
I'm sure your Dad rests easily secure in the knowledge that 30-40% of PVS diagnoses are false positive.
I can see now why you spend most of your time on sports threads.
don't you know dems accuse REP. of what they are guilty of. pay close attn. and you will notice.
For 15 years!!
Come on.
I have to log off; thunderstorms here.
Well, Peach, we DON'T know for sure that that is her CAT scan. So since we don't, you shouldn't be using it to demonstrate anything about her condition, either.
Good point. To the Kennedys, women are just machines anyway.
I'd log off if I were you as well.
I beg your pardon?
What is it you think I said for you are mistaken in whatever you are presuming.
Exactly! It's called "projection" and the dems have been using it for years and years. The problem is - we have figured it out - but the dems are so stupid they keep using it.
Charles Krauthammer also agrees with the "projection" technique theory for the dems and has so stated on TV.
IIRC, one of you is a radiologist. Can you offer any opinion from one slice of Terri Schiavo's CT scan?
Sorry for the late reply. I did not log in on Saturday.
The "dark areas" are the CT density of Cerebral Spinal Fluid (CSF).
The larger butterfly-shaped area in the center is CSF within the right and left lateral ventricles. The other serpiginous areas are CSF in the subarachnoid space collecting in the sulci and in the fissures of the brain.
The amount of fluid in the vetricles is increased indicating Hydrocephalus.
The bright area within one of the ventricles would be expected to be a portion of a Ventriculoperitoneal Shunt to alleviate the hydrocephalus.
The brain tissue also shows cortical atrophy which increases the potential space between the brain tissue and that space is the filled up with CSF.
The degree of atrophy increases with age and all of us who actually lived through the 60's have some degree of cortical atrophy. The degree of cortical atrophy, however, is definitely abnormal for a woman her age
Be that as it may, you really can't make any clinical judgments as to her mental capacity just by the degree of hydrocephalus and atrophy.
I often see patients with that degree of hydrocephalus with a ventriculoperitoneal shunt in place that are doing just fine.
In addition, many elderly patients with that degree of atrophy that are doing well for their age.
Grandma might not be the sharpest pencil in the family box anymore once she gets to that degree of atrophy but you would be killing off trainloads of Grandmas if you used that degree of cortical atrophy to decide when to end their lives.

Polybius is a radiologist and I think that should be clear to anybody with an understanding of diagnostic imaging.
Why yes I have. How about a person who gets dialysis? How about my cousin who has a colostomy bag? As far as I'm concerned those are the same as a feeding tube.
