US House of Rep. in an Extraordinary Sunday night Session [Schiavo] (Bush Signs Schiavo bill)
Posted on 03/20/2005 6:03:40 PM PST by FoxPro
This is an unprecedented session. The Congress is meeting to save one persons life (in real time).
The only reason the Democrats are agreeing to this is that they dont want to be known as the party that killed Terri.
This is American history happening before your eyes.

The Republican Party was formed 150 years ago in the defense of subjectated human beings and tonight reaffirms that commitment.
Amen. I've never been prouder to be a Republican and never more disgusted at the Democrats. They should change their party logo from the jackass to the ghoul and just be done with it.
The new official logo of the Democrat Party.

HUTCHINSON, Kan. -- A story out of Hutchinson Wednesday was nothing short of incredible. A woman who had been in a coma for the past 20 years suddenly woke up, according to a report Wednesday night on "KCTV5 News at 10." Sarah Scantlin was 18 years old when a drunk driver hit her in 1984. She'd been in a coma ever since, that was, until a nurse showed her a children's book for the pictures and Sarah suddenly started to read it out loud. "I started listening to the conversation, and I'll be darned. She's not talking about Sarah, she's talking to her. I got on the phone, and she said, 'Hi Dad.' I didn't ever think I'd see or hear that again," said James Scantlin, her father. After coping with their loss for 20 years, her parents said their dilemma was what to say after so long. She still thought she was 18 years old but was able to recall family pets and to recognize friends who'd aged 20 years

I do not thing the Democrat party realizes that they are on the spotlight right now. They don't realize there are running threads picking asurdity right now.
Is that talking point conyers speaks real or just a DNC fantasy?

My brother lives there -- told my Mom before she visits to tear up her living will. I don't think she appreciated me saying that but oh well! Not sure I want to enter that State at all!

Thank you. The disabled were the first to be murdered by the fascists and communists. The left sees no value in the lives of the weak.

Probably (on of the same) asses who argued that ELIAN be taken from refuge down in Florida, and surrendered to CASTRO and Communist dictatorship, because "the courts have run their course" and "we should not get involved in private lives'"

"Please cite a case of someone coming back after 15 years of a permanent vegetative state."
I can't remember the lady's name. It is something Adamson, I believe. She had her tube pulled for 8 days. She said she knew what was going on and wanted to live. She said it was very painful. Luckily, her husband was able to get it reinserted. The doctors thought he was just a looney religious nut. She is now fighting for Terri.

Nasal whine. It's actually impossible to listen without feeling like you are hearing nails on chalkboard.

Concecticut. Solve world hunger first then terri?
Did he really say that I must have missed it. I will have to go look at the constitution to see where it affords food to the starving world. I have been able to find the right to life in it though

I've seen the video from 4 years ago and she is in a permanant vegetative state.
I'll agree and I bet many others here will agree with me that you are an expert on "permanant (sic) vegetative state".

Why? It's not like they have to go to work tomorrow.True. But I was thinking more of their parents telling them to go to bed and get of the computer.

What I just can't understand is how a husband can do this?? Especially when you have 2 bastard kids with another woman and you go to these extremes is incomprehensible. Marry the other woman and move on.

Each side has the same amount of time. That time is allocated as the leaders of each side determine.

Here is Florida law on the matter:
In April 1999 - House Bill 2131 was introduced in the Florida legislature by the Florida Elder Affairs & Long-Term Care Committee to amend Section 765 (Civil Rights) of the Florida Statutes. The amendments to Section 765.101 were the legal definition of "life prolonging procedures" to add: "INCLUDING ARTIFICIALLY PROVIDED SUSTENENCE AND HYDRATION, WHICH SUSTAINS, RESTORES, OR SUPPLANTS A SPONTANEOUS VITAL FUNCTION". It becomes law on October 1, 1999.
In Florida, sustenance and hydration are considered extraordinary means of prolonging life.

Watch the Dems go down hard.
It must have been like this for the Whigs when the only ones left to speak for them were those who wanted to tighten up the Runaway Slave legislation.
To: MarMema
Because, thankfully, they appear to be fairly few in number, so each gets a bigger chunk of time.
To: All
Have ANY of the Dems spoken for the right-to-life of Terri yet?
To: jbarkley
I just LOVE the Dems beating the drums for states rights off this. Someone said earlier that this needs a cap on a DVD. They have dug themselves a real deep hole.
Conyers just screwed up a talking point about the six month baby in Fla -
