RICHMOND, Va. The American Civil Liberties Union urged a federal appeals court today to reinstate a lawsuit challenging a state law that scuttled plans for a nudist camp for children last summer.
U-S District Judge Richard Williams ruled the lawsuit was moot because organizers of the nudist camp withdrew their permit application after the law took effect.
But A-C-L-U attorney Rebecca Glenberg argued today that organizers still want to conduct the nudist camp for teens at White Tail Park this year and in future years. She said the new law makes that difficult.
The law requires parental supervision at nudist camps for juveniles. Glenberg says only eleven of the 35 children who planned to attend last year's camp would have been able to bring a parent or guardian.

A similar teen nudist camp is run regularly in Cave Creek, Arizona. The owner of the nudist camp where it is run is a fairly well known Republican. He was just elected as an officer in the Grand Canyon Pachyderms Club and has received awards from the AZ GOP. No one seems to understand why that bothers some people.
Back in February I helped coach a youth hockey game, and after the game (which we lost) I saw one of my player's mothers berating the teen-age kid who had reffed the game. One of the things we were taught in coaching clinic is the obligation to police our parents for such things, and to put a stop to them, because the refs are just kids learning too, and as such they are prone to make mistakes.
When I asked this mom what she had been yelling about to the ref, she replied, "I told him to wear a belt when he's out on the ice. I came here to see a hockey game, not his boxers and half of his ass."
True story. I walked away without saying another word and laughed myself silly in the locker room.
The ACLU will do anything to enable pedophiles including defending the rights of NAMBLA pedophiles rights over the rights of children. This has become more and more transparent since 2001 when Anthony Romero was appointed the first openly gay Executive Director of the ACLU. S'cuse me, your agenda is showing.
Why don't they go all the way with this teen nudist camp, and give them free beer.

You know, if it were just this issue alone, it wouldn't bother me so much. But if you think about the ACLU's history....I could see them argue for a nudist teen camp, and that if NAMBLA members were not allowed to work there it would be discrimination. As a matter of fact, they would argue that if these NAMBLA members were found to possess photos of actual child porn, perhaps that they commit theirself, that it should not be a crime to possess it. All that follows the logic of the ACLU.
And I'm not trying to exaggerate. I could really see them arguing some crazy stuff like that!

you are not, and it is well within the realms of their creepiness.
I'm sorry, but a teen nudist camp is just a bad idea. It's like tossing a boxful of magnets on the ground and expecting them not to stick to one another.
I don't know what part of this is worse. Encouraging hormone-crazed teens to hang out in the nude, that there were some parents who didn't have a problem with it, or finally, that there were some parents who would come along to watch.
