This is a breaking news situation.
A man entered a courtroom in the Fulton County Courthouse this morning and shot a Fulton County Sheriff's deputy, a clerk and a judge; there are reports from both WSB and WAGA, the judge is deceased.
The perp has carjacked multiple vehicles -- now on his third -- and is still at large.
I've just come from downtown Atlanta, and the city is a madhouse.

CNN is reporting that he may not be in the green Honda accord anymore. Police aren't sure.

channel 2 news, says the officer who lost her gun said she needed remedial firearms training.. however, that could mean anything, from not qualifying in shooting, to not knowing how to handle a firearm... pretty vague..

Gary Tuckman on CNN says the gun may have been taken from the deputy in the room that adjoins the courtroom, so may have been taken prior to entereing the courtroom.
It is not clear.
She's the one who was shot in the mouth (that has been confirmed) but is in surgery in critical condition but expected to survive.
The news conference said her brain sustained a bruise and she apparently fell face forward and has several fractures but they think she will live.

No problem. Sometimes the discussion after the post is interesting enough.

Geez, why don't they just put a $25 million bounty on the qu'ran, then? Because our President insists it's a religion of peace.
(BTW, so far we've spent over 1500 lives and $87 Billion...)

No, what I think most people are getting at is that this perp was accused of a very violent crime and last week was caught trying to bring a shiv into the court room and was not restrained in any way as not to give the jury an impression that he is guilty. That is probably incomplete information. He has already been tried once on the charge and it ended with a hung jury. Also, is it known what sort of weapon he tried to bring into the court room? Was it assumed that he wasn't trying to smuggle it in but just forgot it?

We hear something bad, simultaneously prayers are offered up, mean spirited comments {quite funny mostly but occasionally hateful and scary} follow, rebukes are followed by more mean or hateful posts and some funny ones, Laz shows up to make me giggle, someone gets banned and we all congratulate each other on how nice we are and how newcomers cause all the problems. Then a newcomer gets angry and it starts all over.
LOL!

Exactly. The most ridiculous language possible was chosen for that worthless press conference.

Hey Chris, you got the 1492 post. Amazing, eh? Umm... Forgive my ignorance, but is that supposed to be significant?
(P.S. My last name begins with "Chris", my first begins with "T" ;-) Its a hold-over from an old UNIX user name I once had.)

"Help me understand this. Those who are saying "PC killed 3 people", are you saying that because the deputy was a woman, 3 people died?"
No Warren the PC the people are referring to is the fact this violent perp who was on trial for rape and sodomy and who had already been caught trying to sneak a home made knife into the court on Wed. was NOT brought into the court in shackles because defense lawyers in Atlanta have successfully lobbies to remove the shackles because of the "negative image" it would have projected to the jury.
THAT kind of PC is what killed the judge and the officers.

Per FoxNews analyst.........The Supreme Court ruled it against the defendents rights to keep them in a "jail uniform" because it makes the defendent "look" guilty. So the perp on the run has civilian clothes on due to not wanting to damage his image in court. More PC attitudes like this allow the perp to run around now dressed in casual clothes. Nice job SCOTUS.
