ATTENTION TEXAS FREEPERS, there is a severe case of RINOitis going on in the Austin right now.
Word is coming from Austin that there will be a vote, maybe as early as Wednesday March 9th or Thursday March 10th, on HB 2 and HB 3. The vote will happen with in the next week to two weeks for sure.
Part of the legislation involves a PAYROLL TAX! A payroll tax will hurt small businesses as well has harm the job market for the State of Texas. It would drain money from businesses that could go to new hires as well as pay for promotions.
A PAYROLL TAX IS A STATE INCOME TAX IN DISGUISE.
Many Republicans in Austin have been going soft on this issue. On Tuesday March 8th we learned that two Republicans introduced a Snack Tax.
It is urged the every Texan contact every other Texan they know, whether it be via e-mail, telephone, or word of mouth, and urge them to contact both their State Representative and State Senator and tell them to stop the payroll tax.
Use the following to locate your incumbent.

There is a concern that the House will use a vote where they do not have to list their own names to the vote. Inform your State Rep. And State Senator, since it looks like it may clear the House and go to the Senate, that you will not accept excuses.
At this time it looks too many Republicans are willing to vote in favor of the Payroll Tax.
Yet none of them want to address the issue of cutting wasteful and redundant spending at the district and state regulated level.
LET THEM KNOW THAT THEY CANT CLAIM TO BE FOR CONSERVATIVE SPENDING AND TAX CUTS AND THEN VOTE FOR MORE TAXES.
Part of the legislation involves shortening the school year to save money, so there is less call for a tax increase. Remember, they told us the lotto would give the schools a ton of money. Well, SHOW US THE MONEY!
News 8 (WFAA) in Dallas reported that the house vote may go down as early as Wednesday March 9th!
Thanks for the ping! If someone pops a legislator in the mouth I'll laugh all the way to Colorado. "SEEE-Ya".
Sen. and Rep. done and done!
Houston ping.
UPDATED ALERT
Ok, I just got off the phone with the offices of both State Rep Mary Denny (district 63) of the Flowermound area and State Rep Vicki Truit (dist. 98) of the Grapevine/Southlake area.
(call them and tell them how you feel.
Mary Denny- H. Dist 63.
(512) 463-0688
Vicki Truitt (H. Dist. 98)
(512) 463-0690
If the conversation was an indicator....it looks like Mary Denny has the intention of voting to approve the bill....
EVEN WITH THE STATE PAYROLL TAX IN IT.
I asked here staff person why the issue of cutting wastefull spending had not been raised......And I got political spin. They also tried to tell me that everyone who has contacted them was in favor of the tax. I know for a fact that there have been over 30 people call her office in the past two days to tell them that they do not want a payroll tax.
I urge every Texan to call their rep and senator......and go ahead and call Mary Denny's office...and let her people know that there are Republicans out there who do NOT WANT A PAYROLL TAX.
Same here.
TX tax reform ping.
ATTN Texas Freepers - PAYROLL TAX ALERT Thanks, ArmyBratproud.Ping to your post #26. (Reposted here):

Please let me know if you want ON or OFF my Texas ping list!. . .don't be shy.
No, you don't HAVE to be a Texan to get on this list!
Got rope?
Just called Rep Talton, no answer, left a message. And I called Sen. Jackson.
Excellent! Thanks.
I left my comments asking my rep. and sen. NOT to support the payroll tax portions of these bills. Hopefully everyone else will do the same!
Thanks MeekOneGOP for the info and the tele#s
Called 3 Texas Rep offices in Corpus, only Vilma Luna's answered. They said Luna voted against HB-3 in committee and that the vote would be tomorrow.
My pleasure. I just hope these folks get the message loud and clear from us.We already know they're lying to us, from ArmyBratproud's post:

It may now be an issue of contacting state senators.
And try and stop the momentum there.
State Sen. Jane Nelson seems to have a ton of influence lately.
So I say call her. Start the new pressure there.
