Bush voters not welcome here

Posted on 03/08/2005 12:00:16 PM PST by CovenBuster

Ocean Haven, which claims to welcome diversity, "Respecting the interdependence & diversity of all life," makes the following exceptions:

"FOR REASONS OF HEALTH & SAFETY, OCEAN HAVEN CANNOT ACCOMMODATE SMOKERS, PETS, FOLKS TRAVELING IN A HUMMER, OR FOLKS WHO VOTED FOR BUSH & HIS NATURE DESTRUCTIVE POLICIES."

I think they are trying to be jerks, and succeeding.

"Pardon my ignorance but where at the end of the earth is Ocean Haven?"

I'm just taking a will guess here, but ... Nebraska?

"I have to believe it's one of the best PR stunts I've ever seen and out of all the people who see it, there will surely be enough Pharisees to fill their rooms forever."

Call it "michael moore marketing"... imagine how many millions of Bush-haters you can get coming to your 2-bit place just to 'stand up' for your views.

YAWN.

I've seen them in the Cedar Park area several times. Check here.

Morbark custom powers each one to suit customer wishes. Pick any diesel engine you want between 650 & 1000 horsepower. They aren't an off the shelf item.

No tubgrinder necessary, stumps left in place, as does the slash (waste limbs, etc.)

The first time I saw one of those in operation, I had to stop and watch. 10 - 12 foot cedar trees went WHOOSH - just gone in a cloud of dust and chips. That is a very impressive machine.

I want my own landclearing business, and the wife just gave me permission to go for it this past weekend. I don't know if I have the balls to give up a good steady job right yet though.

My dad agreed that there probably isn't a business I could own that better suited me.

So let me get this straight. If I pull up to this POS lodge in a Hummer covered in Bush bumper stickers, drinking coffee from a styrofoam cup with a Camel hanging out of my mouth, I'm not getting in?

Well, maybe, if you tell them you're drinking organically grown environmentally friendly coffee, grown in Hawaii on land reclaimed from wicked condominium owners, and that the cup is not a regular styrofoam cup, but is a new kind made of the same material the environmentally friendly packing peanuts are made from, (this material dissolves when it gets wet, but that little detail will probably escape them) and tell them the Camel is really a reefer, you just covered it in Camel paper to get by the cops in case you were pulled over.

I stole it.

Used to share an office with a guy who was a forester before he went to law school (how's THAT for a scary combination?)

He was a solid advocate of planned logging, selective thinning, and brush control.

Probably why he got out of the business - tired of fighting all the lefty-loonies.

LOL! Good one. I can also tell them I'm only driving the Hummer because I'm doing a hitpiece on them for a class at CU, and Ward Churchill is my professor.
