Allen was a governor and if he did not compromise too much as a Senator, Would be a good choice.

You don't think so, huh? How come?

You think he sounds bright, I think he sounds half bright.
Personal opinion.

I also think smart preachers don't have illegitimate children.

Well, hell, I'd vote for Joe Theismann over that alternative.

I'm not sure he has the national exposure to have the top spot

How much did we know about GWB in 1997?
I didn't know GHWBush had two sons, let along two sons in politics!!

George Allen has beaten the Clinton machine twice. Once running for governor and once running for senator. Condi Rice is a very popular person but will not beat Hillary. We elect governors as Presidents.

National exposure? Let's talk NFL. What national exposure did GWB have when he ran. 18 months before the 2000 election I was saying to myself who is this man.

I have been posting George Allen for President in 2008 since December. He's a cowboy like GWB.

Condi could be his running mate but I don't think she would do it yet.

Jerome Corsie "Unfit for duty" said he was going to move to Mass. and go after Kerry's senate seat. The Swift boat vets are targeting both Kerry and Hillary. It's only the news media that wants to play Kingmaker with Hillary. Let's see how things shake out in '06.

He's been my early choice since the election. Of course I could change but whomever it is should continue the course. I know some want to shift toward McLame or Rudy but that won't happen. Frist is the most right but he's not too charismatic.

GWB would never have had a prayer except that his name was George Bush. Being Governor of Texas helped, but right up to the 2000 election lots of people thought he was his father.

I doubt if more than 20% of the people in the country have a clue who George Allen is. The republican who can beat Hilary is going to have to be someone whose name is already familiar to a great majority of the country. The fact that Allen, despite being Governor and Senator hasn't gained that name recognition shows me he hasn't got the 'star power' to be a viable candidate.

Rudi Giulianni
Arnold
Colin Powell
Codi Rice
Don Rumsfeld

Not a very happy list, but that is about all we have in the way of stars.

Very interesting! Great find. This is the reason why bloggers are so succesful is cuz this story gets burried by the MSM. He offers a very encouraging view of Jafari(sp).

lol - even the fact that he was worried about being poisoned by a US senator.

VA bill of rights is a great thing to share with jafari(sp), they are a great model. The private property bit is encouraging too. Most people don't realize Iraq was socialized under Saddam Hussein and still is to some extent.

Look, we need a Governor and Condi. Let's look for a native born Governor that is a real Republican, put our efforts behind him and get him ready for '08. I am as sick and tired of this constant campaign as all of us are, but if that's the way the communists want it, that's the way they'll get it.

Allen is the former governor of Virginia. Apparently the state has a very strict term limits law that prohibits a governor from even serving TWO terms.
