There are those who believe that Pope John Paul II will be the last "real" pope Either the last or the next-to-last.

Can you imagine the memory that young man now has. Sorry I didn't respond earlier. I was watching TV, praying, souring the net, typing, etc. Praying, mostly. Let's hope the main fear is past.

It was the heat of the moment. And they inspired your ire. We were all sensitive to that. Some people just like to make a point, and ignore other's emotions. They may have had good points, but it was just not time to wage a battle. You done good and recognized that.

Just heard a John Gibson interview a knowledgeable man
of the cloth... he stated that Popes are married to the
church (duh) but added "til death do us part."
That's the answer.

I let it pass, and thought you were sincere. Until I discovered the sarcastic thread you started about FOX becoming the Pope network, which was pulled. You were being deceitful in your apology. That is a trait of the other side that we try not to emulate here.
I feel sorry that you were so driven that you could not have paused and thought long and hard about your timing. You could have/might have had some points for discussion. But, learning when to pick your battles might help.
I will pray for your peace. I think you might still be fuming - and, man, it ain't healthy.

Not to mention JPII's visits to Central America where the anti-communist causes suffered setbacks due to his position.

I have a Greek New Testament published by the United Bible Societies (edited by Kurt Aland and others), which relegates to a footnote the words corresponding to "for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen" (
hoti sou estin hE basileia kai hE dynamis kai hE doxa eis tous aiOnas. amEn).
The two earliest manuscripts, the Sinaiticus and the Vaticanus, both of the 4th century, omit these words, as do a number of early Church Fathers such as Tertullian, Origen, and Cyprian. The earliest manuscript to include them seems to be one of the fifth century.

BTW, they said the SAME THING about Reagan and Iran Contra.
LOL, not a good day for WT and his analogies.

We will never forget the Pope in Managua in the 1980s, saying repeatedly at the huge gathering "SILENCIO!!" to the "turbas", the mobs of Sandinista young poeple who turned out to 'greet him' and then heckle him because he would not allow nor condone their philosophy of Communism mixed with church teachings, to inflame Central America under the hammer and sickle. The leftists, both in Centroamerica and in the USA, hated JPII for this....that makes him even GREATER in my book as a result of it.

Something I've never quite understood, is a tracheotomy permanent, or can it be temporary if the original problem necessitating goes away?
