SOLDIER STUNNED BY LETTER KIDS' RANTS
New York Post ^ | 2-21-2005 | David Andreatta

An American soldier overseas is fuming over letters he received from Brooklyn middle-school children accusing GIs of destroying mosques and killing civilians in Iraq.

Pfc. Rob Jacobs of New Jersey said he was initially ecstatic to get a package of letters from sixth-graders at JHS 51 in Park Slope last month at his base 10 miles from the North Korea border.

That changed when he opened the envelope and found missives strewn with politically charged rhetoric, vicious accusations and demoralizing predictions that only a handful of soldiers would leave the Iraq war alive.

The letters were written as a social-studies assignment.

Not all teachers are whackjob communists, some maybe but not all. The school where I teach is very patriotic. When my son returned from Iraq (where he received a Purple Heart) he was welcomed with open arms. The school pretty much had a welcome home celebration for an entire afternoon. He talked about his injuries, experiences, and how it is important that we stay there until the job is done. The local news was invited. Not one teacher had anything negative to say about the war.

Many of our teachers have also taken several soldiers and Marines as buddies and sent many care packages, especially during Christmas.

"While we would never censor anything that our children write, we sincerely apologize for forwarding letters that were in any way inappropriate to Pfc. Jacobs. This assignment was not intended to be insensitive, but to be supportive of the men and women in service to our nation."

Yeah. Right. Sure.

So sad! I have two children who would love to write to a soldier and show their gratitude, yet this poor soldier gets letters like these.

These kids were doing just what they were told to do if they wanted to pass the class. These letters were just the teacher's views written many times.

Don't bet on it, before you step into MY inner city classroom. This is simply the result of liberal indoctrination over and over and over again. If I told MY students to write what they really think about the war in Iraq to American soldiers serving overseas, even knowing my feelings on the subject, this is EXACTLY what I'd get. Because my kids all know I never grade them down for having contrary opinions, so they'd be telling the truth. Well, their truth. But they get their opinions from home and from liberal teachers. I'm only the second conservative fair and balanced teacher they've ever had. Thank God (literally) that when I replaced their previous teacher a few weeks ago, this was the case. Now they get to see that teacher #1 wasn't an aberration.

One more reason to turn off Rush and Sean and turn on Savage. He is the only one even discussing such matters. Our culture is being destroyed, and making tax cuts permanent is not going to stop the marauding Nazis poisoning our children and corrupting our culture.

This is one of the reasons I am moving from NJ, a Socialists Blue state, to Oklahoma a Red state, in two weeks.

Oklahoma - one of (3) COMPLETELY red states in which President Bush carried all counties. Nebraska and Utah were the others.

Unfortunately this does not surprise me. Last Year my son was given an assignment for Social Studies.. it was to write a letter to President Bush telling him why they think the war was wrong and the troops should be brought home now. That was the assignment... PERIOD. No writing in support if thats how you felt. I would have had no problem with it if the letters were supposed to tell Bush your particular position, but the teacher was not interested in that. I told my son that in that case, I was not going to be one bit upset that he got an F on the assignment. Well, perhaps a little, but not at him. Judging from a recent news story on O'Reilly about such a thing, perhaps I shoulda raised a little hell and gotten some attention about this even earlier than a couple weeks ago, but it did not seem like anything new, I had been exposed to socialist games by teachers even when I was in school.

When I was in 10th grade, one of my teachers DID get fired because of a comment he made to me in front of the class once, some of ya may find this amusing...
In science class the teacher was pushing he whole evolution thing, and we were discussing genetics. When I pointed out his theories had to be wrong, because I and red headed and have both parents are black headed. Red hair seem to pop up every third generation and all my cousins are red heads with dark hair parents too. Anyway, this teacher thought he was being cute when he said to me in front of the class "Musta been a ni**er in the woodpile somewhere". He thought it was humorous... the dozen black students in the class didn't.

Damn. Time for a revolution in the Public schools. What is that "Teacher's" name? Time to FReep the schools, shame the hell out of them, and or just fire them.

Is this what we want taught to our kids???? If the answer is no and your kids are in Public Schools, then it is time to run for the School Board. It is the only thing parents can really do to muzzle these Commies in red, white, and blue disguises.

My daughters elementary school did a letter drive for our troops when she was a fifth grader.
The kids had to write a rough draft first that had to be handed to the teacher for approval.
The teacher grew up in the military, her Dad was in the Army.
All the letters were in support of our troops.
My daughter was thrilled when the person who received her letter replied.
She keeps it in her scrapbook, because she is proud to have
gotten to know a little about one of our nations heroes.
