GEFFEN UNLOADS ON HILLARY: 'SHE CAN'T WIN'

Sen. Hillary Clinton should not count on help from Hollywood mogul David Geffen in her possible run for the White House.
Geffen, who was a generous supporter and pal of Bill Clinton when he was president, trashed Hillary's prospects last night during a Q&A at the 92nd St. Y in New York City.
"She can't win, and she's an incredibly polarizing figure," the billionaire Democrat told his audience. "And ambition is just not a good enough reason."
Lloyd Grove reports in fresh editions of the NY DAILY NEWS the audience broke with "hearty applause" over Geffen's comments.

I think Hillary could be very beatable....but we must have a good candidate and good campaign to beat her. She is a talented politician, and the last talented politician to run for President was Bill Clinton, and he was a two termer.
The mainstream media will be in her corner, and we must not forget that 2004 was relatively close, considering how poor a candidate they put up. It was a decisive victory, but certainly far from a landslide.

There is one other more likely possibility....The Republicans run a pro-choice candidate (rino) and the Christians stay home. 90% of the possible names floating about for our next run are pro-choice Republicans, so it looks like we are more likely to shoot ourselves than have a 3rd party split us like before.
Boxer's a 4'8" troll, she'll look like a scruffy little kid next to any other candidate. She's be laughed off the stage.
The only way the Republicans run a pro-Choice candidate is if primary voters pick a pro-Choice candidate. The responsibility is squarely on the shoulders of Republicans/Conservatives/Christians to turn out to vote for someone they can tolerate. If they don't turn out, it won't be the fault of the Rep party if someone unacceptable to them in the general is chosen.
That being said, I think this last election was the Republican high water mark; the final result of Clinton era narcissism. Bush is the anti-Clinton and I think he's been a credit in terms of American power and prestige.
Unfortunately, because of Bush's irresponsibility in terms of spending and his role in expanding the government, we are approaching an era of Democratic presidents, Republican Congresses and Republican state houses.
That's nothing but a red herring.

And I really truly doubt that ex-cons would rise up in droves just to vote for hillary. These guys are from the wrong side of the tracks. They know a b*tch when they see one.
My point was that it was not a VC prison, but then I saw the kid was a future NY lawyer and thought, fugetaboutit.

A Boxer vs. Guiliani matchup in the ring would be quite an unusual spectacle, visually speaking. Frankly I think americans are ready for a freakish looking candidate. The novelty of the television age, blow dried pretty boy candidate (starting with JFK and ending with Edwards) is over. Americans are ready for a gothic looking short bald geek with glasses. Go Rudy.

Indiana's a pretty red state. Would they vote Bayh if in 2008 Bush told them to vote for the all-American southern pair of Condi and Frist?
I can't say I agree with you. I liked the first President Bush. Of course I like W more but if HW had gotten a second term then 9/11 might've been preempted and we wouldn't even remember Hillary by now (2005). Hillary who? Oh, that lady back in 1992...
I'm sorry but it almost sounds like you want Bayh to win. How about Condi/Frist?
I wonder if Mr. Geffen believes Hillary isn't liberal enough and that's why she can't win.
Indiana will vote for Bayh, even if he's running against Bush. Bayh would have to call for confiscation of all guns to lose Indiana.

I've never voted for a Dem in my life, and never would. I just feel that Bayh could take Indiana. If everything else stayed the same, all he'd need is one other small state to flip... Frankly, I think this guy could win it running away, that's just my opinion
