Barf Alert - Once Again, Bill Gates Praises the Communist Dictators of China
ABC News (excerpt) ^ | February 16, 2005 | Bill Gates and Peter Jennings

Posted on 02/16/2005 8:24:14 PM PST by HAL9000

The latest barfer from Bill Gates is excerpted from his interview with Peter Jennings of ABC News -

JENNINGS: Is there any part of the world that intimidates you?

GATES: Well I could say that every time I go to China I am amazed by the level of energy and activity there. And you know its like super charged capitalism where they're creating new jobs and they are being very efficient. And you know that's daunting. It's a challenge to the rest of the world that we got this great opportunity that they're going to build good products, but we all have to become more efficient to work at that level as well.

JENNINGS: Should we be worried that China will best the United States before long?

GATES: Well in the area of economic activity, no one bests anyone. As their people are more college educated and creating inexpensive products. That's just a great thing for our consumers. It does mean that the companies here need to think about selling to China. About how they work with partners there. And measuring their efficiency against the best in the world which in my business will be the leaders in China.

JENNINGS: Is the U.S. as competitive as it needs to be?

GATES: I think we need to renew our competitiveness.

Groveling for Chinese dictators and praising Communist slave labor is increasingly becoming a habit for Bill Gates.

Every American should be disgusted at the way this little puke is selling out his own country to make a buck.

Jan. 29, 2005 - Bill Gates says China has created brand-new form of capitalism (and praises Communist leaders)

Call me silly, but I read that as business leaders, not communist dictator leaders.

Bill Gates is a naieve. The only thing efficient about Chinese markets is their payroll.

In the interest of stimulating discussion - should we pretend China doesn't exist and not try to sell anything to them?

That's not what he's doing...geez...get a grip...

He's acknowledging the FACT that the Chinese are moving toward CAPITALISM faster than any huge country on earth!

The hungry are going to outpace the sedentary...and the US is sedentary.

Speaking as someone who does considerable business in that part of the world, I too am AMAZED at the thriving Private Sector factories in the Pearl River Delta. Ten years ago, all you had were state run factories producing CRAP. Now, investors from Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Singapore are pouring money into highly productive factories that produce everything from toys to golf clubs.

...and how many HOURS a day did YOUR great-grandparents work, with their dreams of capitalism and hopes for the future???

I assume they get paid a market wage then? Or do they get paid from a "Central Wage Distribution Center"? Are the owners foreign?

When did working in a factory for a Communist government develop capitalism there? Dreaming doesn't make change happen. It's also frowned upon in authoritarian states.

GATES: We're responsible for the creation of the PC industry. The whole idea of compatible machines and lots of software — that's something we brought to computing. And so it's a responsibility for us to make sure that things like security don't get in the way of that dream...
