Groveling for Chinese dictators and praising Communist slave labor is increasingly becoming a habit for Bill Gates.

Every American should be disgusted at the way this little puke is selling out his own country to make a buck.

Jan. 29, 2005 - Bill Gates says China has created brand-new form of capitalism (and praises Communist leaders)

Call me silly, but I read that as business leaders, not communist dictator leaders.

---GATES: Well I could say that every time I go to China I am amazed by the level of energy and activity there. And you know its like super charged capitalism where they're creating new jobs and they are being very efficient.---

Translation: they work 16 hours a day for almost nothing!

That's not what he's doing...geez...get a grip...

He's acknowledging the FACT that the Chinese are moving toward CAPITALISM faster than any huge country on earth!

The hungry are going to outpace the sedentary...and the US is sedentary.

Speaking as someone who does considerable business in that part of the world, I too am AMAZED at the thriving Private Sector factories in the Pearl River Delta. Ten years ago, all you had were state run factories producing CRAP. Now, investors from Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Singapore are pouring money into highly productive factories that produce everything from toys to golf clubs.

When will you Birchers understand that despite the idiots in Beijing, there is a THRIVING PRIVATE SECTOR in the Pearl River Delta and Shanghai?

GATES: We're responsible for the creation of the PC industry. The whole idea of compatible machines and lots of software — that's something we brought to computing. And so it's a responsibility for us to make sure that things like security don't get in the way of that dream...

Get a grip. Gates didn't become a billionaire without being able to size up the competition honestly. Let's keep in mind the question Jennings posed: "Is there anywhere in the world that intimidates you?" It says something that the most successful businessman in the world says "China".

Go check how many products in your house are made in China, and come back here and tell me that businessmen ought not keep a sharp eye out for what's going on there.

There once was another country with a hard core tyranny and an expanding open market. They went to war with the world and millions died. It was Japan. It's an unstable system, giving people the means to resist but not the option. It either redirects the anger at the rest of the world or breaks down like Soviet Russia did when it started to open up. Be very afraid.

In one's more depressed moods, one might well only suspect Gates of villainy and believe that only those who make a contract with Satan, himself, rise to any degree of vast fortune. The devil did presume to offer the earth to Our Lord, after all. Then again, there is that old notion, from Christ himself. And he wasn't talking about some oversized movie prop when he talked of threading needles.

Gates remained silent, as I understand it, on the entire Rossi affair. It was a travesty, and particularly as the GOP never really fought for Rossi - despite so many complaints from right here on FR that they did. He signed on with Warren Buffet's nightmarish vision of the world to come, of 'culling herds' for the sake of 'over-population', and whatever other madness, to full support from his foundation and with lots of money for permissive abortion. And now he sees no difference between the free nation that allowed him to prosper and the closed tyranny that literally murders people for daring to attend a Latin Mass, much less other assorted Protestant gatherings and much else.

Does he not see it? Does he rather understand, but simply not care? Is Bill Gates really - a monster, a villain?

These quotes seem to keep coming from questionable sources, first it was the French press, now it's Peter Jennings.

But there probably is some truth to them, since we now have more than one. The terribly sad thing is, nobody other than a few of us oldtime hardcore Freepers like me and you really gives a shit.

Look at this very thread. Look at the public reaction. Nobody gives a damn, and in that regard, Gates isn't doing anything different than what countless other CEO's have been doing recently. Look at IBM, they couldn't be partnering any more closely with the Chicoms if they wanted, although they have crossed a line to where Congress and the Bush Admin have finally launched a formal investigation.

They'll slide by in the end though, I predict. It's all about greasing palms, and fat cats like Gates and Sam Palmisano at IBM getting fatter. They don't give a damn about 40 years from now, when China blows by us on the international scale, hell they'll be dead by then, these guys just want to milk it for whatever they can TODAY.

There's a serious problem in this country, we are becoming dependent on chicom goods, and are borrowing money from them to buy them. Why in the hell people are letting it happen in broad daylight, I have no idea, there's no way these companies could have fawned all over the Kremlin and USSR without a major backlash, but these days, the average guy is more worried about losing his job than solving the nations international problems. That's what our leaders are for.

But our leaders, Gates being one of those, being the richest man on the planet, are letting us down. Unfortunately, nobody really gives a flip, other than a few oldtime freepers, who get shouted down by the new breed of idiots who are only following the lead of these sellouts. Who's next, is all I want to know.
