2 words..............BUNKER BUSTER
Your opinion, fine. Mine differs. They would not have to attack us. They could run wailing to the world for propaganda purposes. They really don't want to attack us. They want to win a progaganda and psychological victory against us, while they continue to stall the Euros and build up their nuclear program. So we get an Iran TV report via Reuters that a missle from an unknown plain was fired in the desert in an unpopulated area near a nuclear facility? Uhhuh... It might be for real, but until proven, I won't assume it.
I have serious issues believing anything reported by Iranian TV. Not that they would lie or shade the truth or nothing.
it is unlikely that a hostile nation (US/Isr) would send a plane into irani airspace and launch just one missile.
anybuddy think that it could have been a spy drone that crashed?
I'm confused. Unless my recollection is really off, Dailam and Lahijan are in northwestern Iran near the Caspian Sea, not in the south near the Persian Gulf coast...

Explosion close to a port of the south of Iran
TEHERAN - an explosion whose origin remains not identified is produced Wednesday morning in an uninhabited zone close to the Iranian port of Daylam, on the Gulf, brought back Iranian television in Arab language Al Alam, according to which witnesses saw passing an aircraft not identified.
Daylam is to approximately 150 km of the first Iranian nuclear thermal power station in construction with Bouchehr.
Witnesses paid to have seen passing an aircraft not identified before the explosion does not occur, indicated Al Alam.
The official ones were dispatched on the spot to identify the origin of the deflagration, said a person in charge for the gouvernorat to Al Alam.
A "governmental source" Iranian declared with Al Alam that the explosion could be caused by a tank of kerozene fallen from an Iranian apparatus.
The explosion was heard with 10H10 local (6H40 GMT), according to Al Alam.

Hey, what's the name of that Frog company that will sell satpics to anyone?
I love Bablefish transcripts.
Now it becomes more apparent why our LIBERAL DEMOCRATS should not have been admitting that we were flying UAVs over Iran.
For some reason, the press and the Dems feel like it is just perfectly fine to discuss national security matters on TV.
If we had not admitted to flying UAVs over Iran, the story would be "Meteor hits nuclear plant!"
Might be Syrian target practice gone wrong.
Please pick up the white courtesy phone...
if you're waiting for kennedy to sober up, better sit down - you'll have a long wait. he's been drunk since before chappaquiddick.
