A Warren County elementary teacher faces a maximum 100 years in prison if she's convicted of having a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old boy.
Only news two was in Fentress County as 27-year-old Pamela Rogers Turner was arrested and charged with 15 counts of sexual battery by an authority figure and 13 counts of statutory rape. District Attorney General Dale Potter said that Turner, a physical education teacher and coach at Centertown Elementary, had an ongoing sexual relationship with a male student. Potter said that some of the incidents even took place at school and at the boy's home, where the teacher reportedly lived a short while.
"Most of the time, we try to prosecute them as harshly as possible when it comes to sex crimes involving children. As far as this case, we intend to prosecute it to the fullest extent possible. As far as saying that she will get an x amount of time or anything like that, that will probably be determined by a judge," said Potter.
Yes. Our teens are learning the life importance of taking much time at getting to know anyone they think they might want to be with. They're learning some history about marriage through the millenia and the last few decades, when time allows, and how it's not all about "self." ...hope it helps them with finding fairly good people to marry, and that they stay out of trouble in the meantime. They're great young folks.
I was homeschooled for middle and high school. I sure would love to have a college teacher that looks like that though.
Not going to wade thru this to see how many intelligent posts you get decrying their loss for not having such techers at their school etc etc.
Spring of '64, I was a senior in high school. My English teacher kept me after one day to discuss an essay I written. She maneuvered me to a position between her and the filing cabinet on the pretext that I should read a paper by another student. She then proceeded to rub my back with her front in a way that left no doubt as to what she was doing. I was 17 and she was 26 and a brunette-knockout from Texas. As a matter of fact I had spent most of the year fantasizing about her. When this event happened I did have a hard time (pun intended) believing that it was, in fact, coming true!
Needless to say I got an "A+" in English and other educational benefits that have stood me well in life. I have never felt the least bit abused; quite the contrary. Obviously, I did not commit suicide, nor did I tell anyone as I wanted to prolong this as long as possible.
This relationship lasted until my entry in the the service in late August of '64. To this day I have only told one person about this. At that age and at my level of emotional development I would not consider what happened in anyway disruptive to my development - only enhancing.
Some would consider themselves a victim; I considered myself lucky!
You'd definately feel different if that was your daughter in that 'position'.

Yes there is definitely a double standard. Definite double standard. I would press charges if it happened to my son but I don't think it would necessarily hurt him.
Just another reason to homeschool IMHO. Some freeper related a story about a boy killing himself after finding out the teacher was sleeping with other boys as well. Maybe some people feel they haven't been hurt by having afterschool sex with the teacher but it's pretty disgusting to me. First you worry about girls, now you have to worry about boys too.
No doubt about it. But no complaint is no complaint, amigo.
One thing that I did have to realize with my daughter was that she was her own person. Sometimes it takes a bit of sole-searching for a father to come to grips with the maturation process of their daughters.
Naturally no one wants their daughter to be put upon by anyone. In my neck of the wood forceful unwanted attention to the female of the species could have fatal results (She's a better shot than her brothers).
At the same time, if she made a choice in life - then that was her choice. Through the love, education and respect given her by her Mom and me we have been fortunate to never have a problem with her.
Now the boys are a different story! They're good but a might frisky! Given me a few grey hairs.
Okay fair enough but I find it hard to work up the same 'enthusiasm' for this thing like other people.
I think most boys would not be traumitized for life.
First you worry about girls, now you have to worry about boys too.
You always had to worry about the boys but it was generally the gays after them until recently. I really don't understand what is causing these attractive young women to go after young boys. They are definitely sick.

There is no "enthusiasm" involved. different events, different times, and different people make for different results. What happened to me I would not condone happening to a 15 year-old. At 17 I was 6'3" and weighed 210 lbs and had worked every summer since I was 11, and most winters too.
I was pretty mature for a seventeen year old. Today I do not condone what she did, but when I was 17 I took advantage of it. Over that summer I came to know the woman. We discussed a lot of things. In my heart I do not believe that this would have been a pattern that she would have repeated. I was just as guilty as she was (morally as opposed to technically that is; in reality I bear no feelings of shame or guilt about the episode). It might be hard for some to understand but it is clear in my mind and I guess that's what counts.

So, the teach was living at the boy's house for awhile? What's up with the parents? Says a lot about their judgement.
Me thinks that if the sexes were reversed, even if both parties were willing participants, many, many folks would be calling for a male teacher to be //insert violent act here//.
Just a couple of weeks ago, a Phys Ed teacher in the next school district over resigned when confronted with information that confirmed he had been having a sexual relationship with two female students. He will never teach again, IF he ends up being charged with statutory rape.

I had basically the same discussion with my wife last nite.
I do want my lads to be responsible and kind above all to girls.
We would prefer our daughters have sex only with their husbands.....not likely these days.
My wife just did a drive by and asked if my thread about the little pervert girl teacher was still going. She and I don't always agree on everything obviously..lol
