You KNOW there are going to be more rallys over this...
Baynatives right...we need to organize a meeting place and/or wear something that will let other FReepers recognize one another...

There is no wiggle room. Slam dunk for a re-vote.
If they can distill the arguments down the way that Judge Bridges is, then I am in complete agreement!

Someone asked how the MSM would spin it..
Judge dismisses 39 counties from election lawsuit, but lets case go forward
The old "BUT" spin again.

I am a true cynic when it comes to democrats finding the 'wiggle' they need to hold onto their power. I am betting this goes to the Federal Courts via Bush-Gore provisions.
Of course that happens if the state supreme court sides with Gregoire. Here are some wiggle points.
1. Felons registering or voting but can only be contested before election.
2. Chelan County Court wrong in denying venue to legislature.
3. No constitutional provision for a revote.
etc.
I'm thinking they need to get this to the federal courts asap for a ruling. But any insights into real picture of state supreme behavior is much appreciated. I would love to be wrong.

The "headline at king5.com went from
"Judge Hears Election Contest Case"
to
"Judge Dismisses 39 Counties From Election Suit"
to
"New Governor Receives Death Threats"
Guess it isn't going the way they would prefer ;'}

Here is a more accurate headline..
Judge Favors GOP In Rulings On Jurisdiction, Venue (AND CAUSE)..
There is evidence, no matter how many Rats say differently.

The state supreme court will be unanimous in ordering a re-vote. No way to avoid it given the public scrutiny the case is getting. when the public is watching, it is much harder to ignore the law.
To: Hostage
Question: What is your opinion of the WSSC ruling that overturned the Superior Court ruling?
Do you think it was pure application of law, or was it a exercise in wiggling (as I do)?
(I think the case-law they relied on was ambiguous enough to have comfortably been determined in either direction)

Actually, we are waiting to do just that. A little over 3 years left in this scum bucket of a state. Then we are moving to Idaho or Wyoming. I am waiting for my wife to retire.

If you are talking about the second hearing in the state supreme court, I think the SC made the correct decision. I don't think the GOP really expected to win that one, primarily because the proper procedure to obtain the relief in that instance ws in the form of an election contest.
To: rockrr
I've lost track. I'm left with only a perception of the state supreme court as controlled by democrats albeit in a covert manner.

Yeah, the parties named in the lawsuit - 39 counties. Bet there are some county auditors breathing easier now.
