The pre-spin: Bush will spend about 1/2 the speech on foreign policy, 1/2 on domestic, with heavy emphasis on Social Security reform. It's said he will provide a detailed tutorial on the SS system and its problems with a few details on his personal accounts proposal.
Laura's guests are said to be an Afghan voter and an Iraqi voter (too bad there's no Ukrainian wearing an orange hat!).
Should we start a drinking game on how many times the pool camera swings to Hillary? Hmmm. Probably not...it would likely hamper out typing ability.
Word on the blogs has it that the closing part of the speech is a hum-dinger. Set your VCR's.
Report here on outrageous MediaCrat spin before AND after the SOTU. Pictures and screen caps welcome.
Thanks. I figured it was the left, but I thought that they were absolutely supposed to be quiet and respectful (other than applause) during the SOTU speech. I don't recall ever hearing anyone interrupt a speech in this manner. I had wondered if someone managed to get in there that shouldn't have.
I thought it was a very gripping, emotional, uplifting, heart-felt symphony of HOPE. As far as the dems go...SEE YA, SUCKS TO BE YA.
Damn!
Best speech by far for Prez. and best public address he has given by far.
Clear, coherent, and sweeping.
This sure hit "the vision thing"
ON BUSH:
SlavesandBulldozers 4. this freedom for the world thing is really scary.....
ON REID:
SlavesandBulldozers 23. good god is he boring. what is he babbling on about?
ultraist 15. Senator Reid Is not very charismatic is he? Where's the opposition?
missb 17. Oh FOR CRYING IN A BUCKET
Get Dean out there to do the Democratic response. Reid and Pelosi blow. They are very smart and capable, but their delivery *****, *****, *****
We need fire, people. FIRE.
ARRRRGHGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I didn't "diss" Peggy for her disagreement. I strongly disagree with her, and I disagree with Charles saying "pedestrian" as well. I've torn the Fox panel apart, including Brit, before most notably for their comments during the convention, debates and election night.
It was Peggy's attitude that made me see red and still does. I suspect she had less than admirable motivation behind that column. far as I'm concerned, she's through as a credible source for me.
Could I ask what age bracket you might be in?
I am in the 65 - 70 and I think the Presidents plan is Good!
I like how he took on Saudi Arabia and Egypt. I wish the state department would do the same.
I would have liked to see it more conservative domestically. Reagan constantly talked about the need to shrink government and the evil of oppressive government. I wish Bush would speak more like that.
I agree .... Was once a Hannity fan but he is just a self promoting boor I would rather watch HGTV..or sports and I am a political junkie... He is no Rush
Kay
18-24 more months of the leading Dems behaving this way could result in a schism in their party -- The Moonbats vs. The Sane Dems.
What is going on here? LOL
It's too bad they have to wait that long,to wake up.
BLECH! POOEY! EEUUUWWWW! True luuuuuuuv!
Heartstopping moment
Doro Bush Koch next to the Norwoods
What a team .... look out world!
My tv color's off .. was that the color of Laura's suit--lavender?? Gorgeous!
Why? When she has proved herself to be quite a hypocrite. It never ceases to amaze me why there are some on FR who come to defend a "conservative" columnist at all costs, but a President, they will not defend.
Loretta Sanchez's parents are probably here illegally.
Is Hannity selling a book?
Denny Crane: "There are two places to find the truth. God and then Fox News."
I'm 27 and have siblings at ages 25 and 23.
The Dems are playing with fire on this issue.
