More and more good folks are finding out about Terri and that judicial tyranny would take her life, but for lots and lots of prayer and non-stop lobbying of relatives, friends, clergy, our leaders, the media, a passerby, a cashier - ANYONE who you feel comfortable chatting with.
Folks always want to know how can this be in America or on earth for that matter? Unfortunately, this is really happening to an innocent woman who just celebrated her 41st birthday. She's not the only one but she's the one with devoted parents and siblings who knows what's in Terri's heart. Terri has a strong will to live. That's apparent. It's been 14 years.
Besides, feeding tubes have been around practically since the Civil War. They are not high tech devices. Terri is "not hooked up to machines". Her feeding tube is the diameter of a piece of spaghetti.
Talkin' about Terri is the best way to lobby for her. It is a salespitch to save her life and subsequently, many lives. If you've never sold anything in your life, START NOW. START WITH TERRI.

AGAIN WE HAVE A NEW RECORD: 15,103 views on the tote board for the Terri Schindler Schiavo January Daily Thread!
The most significant event in Terri's case in January, was the Supreme's Courts refusal to hear Governor Jeb Bush's appeal, after the Florida State Legislature struck down Terri's Law. This once again places Terri's life in extreme jeopardy, though there are other issues regarding her case before the court.
I sure wanted to hear from floriduh voter about her picketing the house of ill repute. I wanted her to take me along but since I live so far away....

I did like the attorney with Terri's brother. Well-spoken and authoritative. He just might get something done, such as get the doctors to present their opinions again.
He said that she has never had any legal representation, never had her day in court.
Greta and others don't ask Felos enough pointed, hard questions. They never, that I've seen, corner Michael on his malpractice testimony. Nobody ever uses clips of other interviews. If I were Terri's lawyer, I would demand that previous testimony and these tapes be entered into evidence.
I have a question, though, if there is no law allowing Terri's tube to be removed, what code is the judge basing his verdict on?
I also wonder why Judge Greer is helping Michael murder Terri. Is he revengeful, too? And stubborn? Or it some kind of ego thing?
Hard to figure what makes these people tick.
A statute passed in 1999 classifies a feeding tube as being among the "extraordinary life-preserving measures" that can be discontinued if there is clear and compelling evidence that the patient does not want them.
Unfortunately, if Judge Greer finds the testimony of Michael's sister-in-law on that subject to be "clear and compelling evidence", no appeals court is allowed to question his judgement.
I know she rescinded the ban, but Jim has already gone through a few lawsuits and he doesn't need anymore.
Hopefully, the Empire Journal will continue to publish articles on Terri on their own site.

How likely is it that Terri's trust fund books, which Greer has been required to oversee, are 100% kosher? If Terri dies, all her money will go to Michael and, if Michael is satisfied with the state of the fund, the records associated with it can be destroyed.
Another thing the attorney with Terri's brother said last night was that she seemed to like him (his voice), her eyes followed him around the room. Then he said that Greer has never, not once, personally seen her.
That was encouraging to me....he's looking at other avenues. God bless him, I hope he can get this rolling again.

It seems to me if Michael indicated right on tv in so many words that he is doing this because he doesn't like his father-in-law (hence revenge), that absolutely should be addressed by Terri's parents' attorney.
Especially since his statement has been recorded on tv.
My mention of constitutional concerns turned them off.
Many good people have died in the name of our Constitution and Bill of Rights, and it's important that we preserve them.
Even so, on the outside chance that something was being overlooked, I did my part in writing and calling. I don't want to see this woman die, particularly as an act of vengence on her husband's part.
This new attorney has renewed my hope.

So it's probably a CYA decision by Judge Greer - his career before Terri's life.
Yes, Terri's parents' new attorney does seem very sharp.
Michael has admitted on tv that he is doing this because he doesn't like his father-in-law which negates that he is doing this because it was Terri's wish.
It sure seems like a legal plus for Terri to me.

Her tube can be removed if it was her wishes and if it was stated in a living will or advance directive. Since she had neither, it is allowed to be removed from her IF she is terminal (she's not) or PVS (which she doesn't qualify for under Florida law) AND if there is clear and convincing evidence that those were her wishes prior to her incapacitation. The laws have been thoroughly misapplied to Terri. The judge counts Michael's hearsay testimony and his brother's and sister-in-law's hearsay testimony as passing the clear and convincing standard.
Never mind that when she allegedly said this, she couldn't have been referring to feeding tubes, because that didn't become part of the law until 1999. Never mind that she could have felt pressured by his family to 'fit in' during some alleged discussion of the topic. This was not 'informed consent' by any stretch of the imagination, but since Greer said this is what it is, it doesn't seem to matter what anyone else says to the contrary. I don't think that if Terri were to be able to tell Judge Greer herself that she wanted to live that he would allow it. He is that determined to see her die.
Yikes!! I was just ready to go to bed, and it dawned on me that Monday, Feb. 21 is a holiday (Presidents' day).
