The Babs and Klavern Show! (Senate Condi Debate Live Thread)
C-Span ^ | today | me

Posted on 01/25/2005 4:40:04 AM PST by section9

Yes folks, I know it's a couple of hours away, but for you loyal C-Span listeners, the debate will be carried live on C-Span 2 today. Live streaming on C-Span 2's server for those of you with high bandwidth carriers.

Box-o-Rox has asked for a full hour in which to call Dr. Rice a lying slut. Meantime, the senior Senator from the state of West Virginia has brought some friends of his down to testify to Rice's unfitness for her office:

Other Dhimmis have asked for time to object to Dr. Rice as well. Meantime, I wonder if McCain or Hagel will actually rise to her defense?

(...sound of crickets...)

Arlen Specter? Anybody?

Be Seeing You,

Chris

>>But of what? Is it that they are aware of just how whacko and cartoonish they have become in the eyes of America? Or are they just scared of what they think Bush might accomplish? What exactly are they afraid of? I don't think they know what they are afraid of....they are just being ugly.....because it's what they d<<

I think the dems are afraid, very afraid that Dr. Rice will be the republican candidate for Pres. in 2008 and they are trying to damage her now. A preemptive strike.

Thanks. I have read parts of it and seen replays of parts, but not that part. I can imagine that the somewhat lighthearted dialogue and the temperature became very different after that dolt Imus brought it up.

Anyway, it seems Cheney's whole purpose was to use Imus' show as a media vehicle to make his statement (veiled threat) to Iran. An unusual choice of venue, but he was probably using that unconventional platform for a reason.

Like W, the VP plays poker while the Dems play slapjack.

The Dems truly are imploding..they have no idea how out of touch they are on the issues..like Soc Security..They are actually telling youger voters that SS as consituted, is a better deal for them than the free-market investments.I posted this a few days ago, but it's worth repeating..in 2000, Gore and Lieberman campaigned extensively in Florida at senior centers and nursing homes...repeating incessantly the big lie that the GOP wanted to take away their SS checks.remember...well, in 2008, about 70-80% of those seniros that Gore spoke to wil be dead..and the baby boomers will be taking distributins fromm their IRAs, 40lks, and pension and Profit-sharing accounts..The Dems are on the wrong side of history..

If Not the Prez candidate, how about Governor? Senator? Her home state is California. The Dems have correctly realized it is possible Condi could be a candidate for some form of office. They are attempting to destroy her, too bad the American people are impressed with this woman on both Left and right. They appear as reactionary extremists obsessed with their loss taking it out on the reserved competant woman that has caused no harm to anyone.

I had to go to another website to order texts for my daughter, but before I left...

I noticed Levin has deftly perpetuated the Dems' deliberate blurring of the "mistakes" made by Condi and the "mistakes" made by the Departments of Defense and of State.

Condi gets the blame for everything the Democrats think the whole Bush administration did wrong.

The way the Democrats speak, you'd have thought Condi has been President, Secretary of Defense and Secretary of State (all rolled into one) for the past 4 years.

[sarcasm] What a woman -- able to accomplish so much evil in so little time, without being a dictator!! [/sarcasm]

Kennedy quoting from a "March 6, 2000" letter by Rice

Uh...Ted...Bush wasn't president

What does that have to do with the war in Iraq?

And shall we bring up Teddy's speeches from when Clinton was President and how Teddy thought Saddam and Iraq was a threat then?

I see that Bayh said he is going to vote against Dr. Rice.

I have TOLD and TOLD Greg Garrison that Evan Bayh is a PHONY. (Garrison is our local talk show host and prosecutor of Mike Tyson). Garrison is always talking about how Bayh is a moderate.

Balderdash! This is just another example of how he says one thing in Indiana and does the bidding of the Rat bosses in D.C.

He just got reelected so is safe for 6 years...and I will bet cash money he is going to run for President, and that will be very, very dangerous for us.

Bah!

It just dawned on me -- Palo Alto is probably in Boxer's district. Could that be part of the explanation for Boxer going off the deep end about Condi? Maybe BoxoRocks is terrified that Dr. Rice will run against her six years from now and break her stranglehold on looneyland.

It's said Boxer won't run again, I'm not so sure. Liberals are relunctant to relinquish power. Whether she is running or not, she may like to keep the option open.

I do think Boxer believes everything she is saying. I do believe her mental acuity is uh..not enviable. She benefits from an uncompetitive GOP in a state largely Dem. She is the puppet of the DNC, there merely to service their will. It's no different then my Senators Murray and Cantwell. Their words are not their own.

The DNC (Hill) has pegged Condi as a threat, she must be taken down. Others in the party are more than happy to jump on because they view it as an opportunity to bash the Bush again.

DAYTON:Some might prefer to avoid the momentous decision the Constitution assigns us whether or not to declare war. Whether or not to send Americans into battle halfway around the world, where they would likely encounter the chemical or biological weapons we rightfully seek to spare this country. Some of those Americans will die too young, and others will suffer horrible wounds lasting for lifetimes.

But But .. I thought he didn't know anything about that?

And shall we bring up Teddy's speeches from when Clinton was President and how Teddy thought Saddam and Iraq was a threat then?

I think Our Teddy has inherited a double dose of the ancestral "belligerence" gene and he never outgrew the "terrible twos."

When Tedward was a baby in his highchair, he probably spit out his oatmeal in his father's face.

Just heard Rush say that he has noticed the "differences" between the Boxers, Levins, Kennedys, etc., and Lieberman, and Clinton. He said their messages are becoming SO different that he foresees a Democrat party meltdown---

Then, I changed to Bill O'Reilly's radio show just in time to hear him say that the reason the Islamofascists are becoming terrorists and attacking the US is because of, get this--POVERTY.

Dang, I though O'Reilly had some strange takes on certain things, but to NOW regard Islamic terrorism growing out of poverty in Saudi Arabia is ludicrous!!!

Sorry for the change in topic---just thought ya'll might want a good laugh today...
