So much like Clinton take something and to make it about himself more than anything. This is class.

That being the case, Carson may have much to answer for...

Bubba thinks that Carson's greatest legacy is having him on the Tonight Show.

sad to say..the impeached one is right..clinton made a fool of himself in Atlanta in 1988 by being so long winded..showing up on Carson the next week and joking about it probably saved his career..sad for us..

Funny thing.I saw that speech in 1988. The delegates were booing him...trying to get him off the stage...
My last thought was...this guy is going to be president.
That's when I started following his & the beast's career.

Don't blame Johnny. When it happened, it was just a funny human interest story: small state governor picked to give keynote address bombs so big, he becomes the butt of monologue jokes. So of course, Johnny had him on to give his side of the story and poke fun at himself, partly because Johnny was a classy guy and partly to prolong the fun.

We can, however, blame Clinton for choosing on this sad occasion not to say how gracious Johnny Carson was to have him on, but to remark on how it helped his career. Bill Clinton has to be the center of every story told by Bill Clinton.

Bill Clinton: "Those 20 minutes on 'The Tonight Show' did more for my career than speaking for two days at the Democratic National Convention."

If Arnold Swartzenegger made a comparable statement, would he be viewed the same way?

This is a bit off the topic but it wasn't worthy of its own thread - Now, I loved Johnny and I'm saddened by his passing but the "tributes" everyone, Fox in particular, are putting out are pathetic. I'm not sure Rita Cosby has the first clue about Johnny and the Tonight Show.

I mean, she didn't get Rich Little at all, they called Phyllis Diller, (Phyllis Diller??????? WTF?) and Kreskin was all over the place. This is the Love Boat of tributes.

Rest in Peace, Johnny.

Just like Clinton to stick his nose in where it doesn't belong. I guess we should be lucky it's just his nose.

"showing up on Carson the next week and joking about it probably saved his career..sad for us..."

President Clinton's career single-handedly removed the radical Left from power, where they remain on the sidelines to this very day, howling at the adults in charge.

...Tip of the hat to Carson for seeing the value in a good joke...

As much as I dislike the Clintons, I can view them as human at times.

When someone dies we tend to remember them and the affect the deceased person had on our lives.

I see nothing wrong with the bent one acknowledging that Johnny Carson helped keep Clinton's career alive. (wish he hadn't but he did)

good observations..yes..for not clinton the GOP would not have a majority in both houses and governorships..but it was a steep cost..clinton was and is a terrible man..
