All systems are go for the D.C. Chapter's American Sector on the Inaugural Parade route.
The weather is cold, but warmer than the past few days. The sun is peaking through the clouds. Snow covers the sidewalks, but Pennsylvania Avenue has been cleared.
The barricades are up everywhere. Small groups of people are walking around checking things out.
I did a recon last night with BufordP after the Freeper dinner. ANSWER has their bleachers set up on John Marshall Plaza at the starting point for the parade at 4th St. and Pennsylvania Ave. They also have a stage and speaker risers right on the sidewalk at Pennsylvania Ave.
For all their wailing about the Presidential Inaugural Committee denying the public access to the sidewalk on Pennsylvania Ave., ANSWER has taken up most of the sidewalk space themselves with their stage and sound equipment, thereby denying their own people access to the sidewalk on Pennsylvania Ave. I hope the courts take that hypocriscy into account if their case is appealed.
Snow covered most of the American Sector last night. For those not sure where we'll be today, here's the info:
The northeast corner of 7th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, NW. Look for Freepers wearing white Pajama Patrol badge t-shirts with the word 'Marshal' in red letters on the back.
We'll be there from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. We'll have a rally from 10:30 to 11:30. After that, we'll line the parade route in our permitted area on the same block, just a few feet down on the north side of the 600 block of Pennsylvania Avenue.
We'll be calling in updates throughout the day.
Parade starts at 2PM Eastern, 1PM Central.
Thanks! Got a hungry hubby tofeed.
I'll be here through most of the parade. I do have something I have to do about 3.
I hope our Fellow Freepers stay safe out there... the Protest Warriors ran into a little trouble a few minutes ago:
12:12 p.m. ET
Not So Peaceful Peace Rally
Hundreds of people gathered at both ends of Meridian Hill Park in Northwest Washington for a peace rally sponsored by the D.C Antiwar Network.
But there were interlopers: Thirteen members of ProtestWarror, supporting the Bush administration and its policies in Iraq. When the Bush supporters arrived, about 20 black-clad, self-described anarchists emerged from the crowd, shouting profanity and epithets and demanding that they leave the peace rally.
When the Bush supporters refused to leave, the anarchists tore the sign out of the Bush supporters' hands and stomped on them. When ProtestWarrior leader Gil Kobrin objected, several male anarchists knocked him to the ground, kicking him in the back and punching him. Other anarchists punched and shoved Kobrin's 12 colleagues.
After D.C. Antiwar Network members broke up the fight, the Bush supporters heeded their order to leave the park. Kobrin then called D.C. police, who are now guarding them at the entrance of the park as they hold up their pro-war signs. "We're going to hang tight," Kobrin said. "We're expressing our freedom of speech just as they are expressing theirs." --Robert MacMillan

Those peaceful persons are full of so much hate and vitriol. It would seem that someone could have had charges filed against the unwashed persons who did the kicking and punching. I'm glad the PWs seem to have recovered.
I'm looking forward to seeing you, too ... heard all about you from TaxRelief.
We've got more guns than they do...
Snow, huh? Send us some. :^DBoBilly called yesterday, he'll be in Gambia another week,
and then home. I think he's recruiting for the military now.He sounds like a hard worker. Way to go, man!
I guess everyone ran to get lunch. This thread came to a screeching halt. I'm ready for the parade to start.
You rang??? :^)
haha! :^D
BTTT
Parade has not started yet, the military are lined up on both sides of the street but there is no activity on the parade route
Phoop! I'm trying to look at video of the President's speech, but Fox's video link won't show me anything but commercials! I wonder if my husband's security setup is keeping me from downloading the video, or whatever it's supposed to do?
The Gestapo.
