President and Mrs. Bush visited the National Archives to view some of our nation's founding documents.
In spite of some Senators Behaving Badly (particularly John Kerry and Barbara Boxer), the Senate Foreign Relations Committee voted Wednesday to confirm Condoleezza Rice as secretary of state; the nomination now goes to the full Senate for a vote.
Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island: one day to go till W2!

(It's official. 'Beezie' is the new WH puppy's call name, per Mrs. Bush on TV 1/19/05.)

I'll wager that the SS will be on any tomato hurler before they get through the back-swing.
Also....That car is AMAZING! I can only imagine all of the gadgets and doodads.
Also....did I miss Barney and Weezie?

You would think the judge would ask them why they want this information--why are they going to all this trouble to get it?I know. It's bizzare. I'm sure you're right that security measures have changed from four years ago, and are far tougher for this first post 9/11 inaugural. But it adds another layer of worry to the already heavily burdened security forces.

Dick Cheney looks happier at the fireworks tonight...He does, although I really don't think he was unhappy at that prior event. Photographs don't provide context. They are just a frozen moment in time.

Yep. I have no doubt he adores his granddaughters, but you know how it is with men and their sons and grandsons. I'm sure the VP just dotes on that little guy.

I'm going to watch all day, too, after I put out my flag so all my neighbors who sprouted Kerry signs can just grit their teeth.Heh heh. I like the way you think.
I hope this is all repeated on C-Span. I've got a full day tomorrow, w/a bunch of leftie academics no less, but maybe I'll wear my Veterans of Foreign Wars flag pin. It has a big 'V' and a flag. They're so ignorant of the military, they'll all think it is for Bush's 'victory,' which is fine by me.
I'm such a scamp.

The VP looks especially happy with that grandson on his lap, in fact he looks positively radiant. Anybody know who the two men behind the President and VP are?

Fox are covering the Texas Ball tonight should a clip of it in about 20 minutes. Darn, did I miss it?. Now that The Factor is starting, I doubt they would interrupt O'Reilly. Hopefully H&C will show it later.

I'll wager that the SS will be on any tomato hurler before they get through the back-swing.The SS, or the cops, or the military -- literally thousands of people on security duty tomorrow.
Also....That car is AMAZING! I can only imagine all of the gadgets and doodads.
It is one heck of a presidential perk, isn't it. And, as I said above, Bill Clinton, Algore and John Kerry never have and never will ride in it.
Also....did I miss Barney and Weezie?
Bill Plante (who seems to love dogs) interviewed the First Lady on CBS this morning. She had the puppy in her lap. Called her Beezie, so the President's call name for the pup seems to be sticking. They didn't show Barney. If you get the chance tomorrow morning, they are going to show the second part of the interview. Maybe they'll have the dogs on.

The man directly behind the VP is the President's lead Secret Service agent. I'm not sure about the man sitting direction behind the President, but think he is Doro Bush's husband. Not 100% certain of that, though.

Very true and unfortuntely he is one of those people who either look very happy and smiling or without a smile can look miserable or very thoughtful and probably a photo taken at that moment completely gives the wrong impression of how he is acting or feeling

I know I am utterly predictable (and probably boring to some), but look at Laura's arm around her husband's waist......
They are just so................SWEET together!
I can't WAIT until the balls tomorrow night!!!
