I still can not belive that it has gotten to this.
As much as I would love to hear good news from the US Sup. Court, I have a feeling they will do nothing.
It would be shocking if the Supreme Court agrees to hear this case.
Bump and Thanks for the ping.
I don't know why all these news reporters want to see Terri murdered. Well, yes, I do. But it's pretty depressing.
very sad state of affairs.
The Nine Most powerful Magistrates in History are gonna unleash the jackbooted Federal Marshalls of the Worlds Most powerful Executive on a helpless disabled woman to commit a Judicial Homicide so her husband can profit from her death. (Strains of America the Beautiful playing in the background.)
We don't seem to mind a bit that 4,000 little tiny people are nonchalantly scraped out of the womb everyday. Why should we care about a disabled woman who only consumes resources? After all we're just animals, with limited resources, right?
I doubt if the Supremes will hear case---like other posters, I just don't see how this has gotten this far!!!
I have to hand it to Jeb Bush for sticking with this, though. He could have stopped after his initial involvement.
the precedent this is going to set for other disabled people is simply terrifying. THis country is riding a rocket sled down the slippery slope :(
Pray please. This is a cusp for our country. One man intent on STARVING TO DEATH his lawful wife, supported by the legal system of our country. Weep while you pray, our Lady is moved by our tears and she can intercede.
The moral of this story is if you ever get sick nevermind doctors call a lawyer. P.S. You'll never get me to sign on of those so called 'Living Wills'(Don't you love the Kevorkian euphemism?) euthanasia authorizations.
What is the big, friggin' deal? Just let the woman live, in the care of her parents, or whatever state programs can keep her alive and healthy until it's her true time to go. I'm hardly an advocate of anyone living off of my dime, but this woman deserves it, if no one else does.
Scr3w that no-good husband of hers! This case is so close to my heart because my Ex and I were talking about what we would do if either of us were physically disabled...and he actually said to me, "You really think I should be the one to care for you if you can no longer function on your own?" Hello?
I was out of that marriage within a number of months.
And I'm still thinking that Michael Schaivo has a lot to come clean about...
Life. THE Inalienable right.
Hope remains.
Excuse my ignorance here but if they accept or reject the appeal on Friday, what will then happen on Monday? The article does not make that clear.
But if they felt a ruling from the court (Other than that the court decides to stay out of the case) would be in Michael's favor, it would suddenly become a Federal issue. Amazing.
It is risky to predict what the high court will decide Friday
What makes this prediction risky? For whom is it risky? What a moronic thing to say! This woman's life is on the line! It's very sad that a human life has come to this. If she could SPEAK, there would be no "court decision". Basically, when someone loses their voice, then they no longer have any say in their own life! It's also very sad that certain media circles call it "risky" to predict what the court will say when it is not THEIR life hanging in the balance! Talk about a barf alert!
Ya know, if I was Terry's Dad, with my life savings depleated, and my wife was of sound mind to care for Terry, poor Mr. michael might have an accident....leaving Terry's Mom to care for her the way she should be cared for.
Dad's must defend their children no matter how old and no matter what the cost.
The "Supremes" tend to be cowards in this area.
