Washington D.C. Rocked by Arkansas Governor Huckabee and FreeRepublic.com!
(FR) Washington, D.C., one week from today--Arkansas Rockin' Governor Mike Huckabee and his band, Capitol Offense, together with hundreds of bebopping FReepers to descend on our nation's capitol on Thursday, January 20, 2005, a date that shall live in infamy. The Free Republic Inaugural Ball and "Count the White House Silverware Party" was the "hottest" inaugural ball in town in 2001! The 2005 Free Republic W2 Inaugural Ball promises to be a repeat performance!
Governor Huckabee and "Dubya" Rock D.C. at the 2001 FReeper Ball! |
Besides the 2001 Free Republic Inaugural Ball, Governor Huckabee and his Capitol Offense band have played for Willie Nelson, .38 Special, Grand Funk Railroad, Percy Sledge and many others.
In a recent email message to Kristinn Taylor, co-leader of the D.C. Chapter of Free Republic, Governor Huckabee writes, "The band and I are truly thrilled to be playing for the Freeper Ball next week--we're hoping to rock the house!"
Governor Huckabee is said to be a presidential hopeful in 2008.
Taylor says the D.C. Chapter of Free Republic is also sponsoring a counter protest along the inaugural parade route on Thursday afternoon. They are countering a planned protest by the International ANSWER anti-war group.
Taylor and the D.C. Chapter are also planning a dinner on Wednesday night for the FReepers and Free Republic Ball attendees. Watch for the announcement to be posted later tonight to Free Republic.
The Free Republic W2 Inaugural Ball, which will celebrate the reelection of President Bush and Vice President Cheney, as well as honor our men and women serving in the Armed Forces, will be held at the Washington Plaza Hotel from 7 p.m. to Midnight.
You won't want to miss this one!!
Admission includes dinner, dancing and open bar!

"I have said over and over on this site that I think that Mike Huckabee would make a great president. A man of great character, great speaker and a good conservative plus a governor from a southern state."=================================
And where have four of the past six presidents been from? . .
(The other two were from California - both conservatives!)

Everyone who gets to go to the Free Republic Inaugural Ball is so Blessed! I can't go, but I will offer my Prayers for our Lord to Cover everyone with Blessings and Travel Mercies.
Gov. Huckabee is my own Front-Runner for the Republican Nomination in 2008, closely followed by J.C. Watts and Condi! Go, Mike, GO!

It's killing us too, so far the biggest thrill in the past 5 or 6 years, has been a rally in NH! Wow was that great! We would dearly love to meet our fellow freepers, and be in DC for the inaugural, we will be there in spirit! ")

I have never heard of your Gov. Huckabee before. Hmmmmm wonder why. Does he have a pic posted anywhere? maybe i would recognize him if I saw one. I like Roscot (think that is how you spell it) he was very visible during the campaigns and start up of Homeland Security, but haven't heard much about him lately.

I'm not.

I've always been Ecstatic that Mike Huckabee won the Governorship in Arkansas, because he is the
very Opposite of Bubba Clinton, in every way, and it just seemed to be Divine Justice, to me! LOL, I still Love it!
Gov. Huckabee would make a Wonderful President, and I Pray that it will be so, by the Grace of God. : )
To: gidget7
I had the pleasure of hearing Gov. Huckabee speak a couple of years ago. He's a great man full if common sense and practical wit. At the tie the Arkansas's governors home was evacuated for renovation so he was the state's first executive officer to live in a "double wide".Also Gov Mike isn't afraid to refer to the Almighty form time to time. There is a parochial saying I used to hear "He's just folks", that would fit him.

Bound for DC from Afghanistan, by way of Illinois- bump!
I am visiting a great uncle in Heber Springs, Arkansas, when I get back to Illinois, from DC.
he is a misguided (radical) Democrat... I will relish sharing the events in DC with him, especially the juicy parts regarding the good governor Huckabee and his band playing for us.
