Something tells me the Governments over there are upping the casuality rate to get more money...

I mean...I believe that many could be dead.

But those Governments are so corrupt it would not suprise me.

I wouldn't doubt that as a possible final figure, but for now, jumping 100,000 in a day seems awfully high.

They want us OUT. The sooner, the better they say. I can't help but agree.

Indonesia announced that U.S. and other foreign troops providing tsunami disaster relief must leave the country by the end of March and ordered aid workers Wednesday to declare their travel plans or face expulsion from devastated Aceh province on Sumatra island.

This really makes me mad. Talk about ungrateful.

I caught the tail end of the report, but I think the FOX reporter said "210,000 dead in Indonesia, 272,000 in the region".

NO WAY our troops should stay there unless they're armed. There could be a massacre or large-scale capture if they do.

They don't want us to see the actual casualty rate.

I don't think our troops should go anywhere unarmed!

They also said it would be one of the Top 5 natural disasters in the last 300 years, not #1.

Several floods in China easily top the 2004 tsunami.

Agreed. Our soldiers sailors marines and airmen should, IMO, never deploy unarmed. This kind of thing drives me nuts.

I am real suspicious of the numbers. I think they added the 72 virgins to the score of every dead Muslim male over 12.

Do you think those countries even know for sure how many residents they had before the tsunami, much less how many were swept away?

272,000 less poor (for the most part) people.

The U.N. population control freaks must be ecstatic.

Sorry, but I think that's probably still a conservative estimate. They don't have to hype it to get lots of money. That is all happening anyway.

Sometimes there are bona fide disasters of epic proportions, and this is one of those times.

I don't think they knew.

I think they are estimating what they want it to be.

Don't forget Burma/Myanmar. They aren't even reporting their dead. I would not be at all surprised if in was about 50 thousand or so. I am sure we'll hear about it in a few years when the government there falls.

Prayers for the fallen. Greater prayers for those who remain.

I am with Ramius on this one. I just recently heard that they are just beginning to dig the bodies out of the mud.
