A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day....01-12-05....Do You Remember These?
Billie

A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

"You've posted a total of 501 threads and 32,396 replies."
Not ALL of those 501 threads have been posted to the Finest, but probably most were. The following are a few of my favorites - they don't include profiles, because those are too hard to choose from, and they don't include the many wonderful threads that the other hostesses have created and presented over the past two and a half years....just those ideas that popped into my head and ended up *here*.

If you missed the original presentations and are inclined to check out the full thread, the link is provided above each vignette. (A brief description of each can be read by holding your mouse over the graphic heading.)

Do You Remember These?

Luvya, Dubya ~ 08-03-04

One might think, from listening to the mainstream media (who are trying their darnedst to elect John-John in November) that there is no one left in America who believes in our President, no one who backs *his* war in Iraq, no one who believes any progress has been made in the War on Terror, no one who believes September 11th wasn't his fault. They are wrong, of course, and they know they are wrong, but it doesn't fit their agenda to present the truth, even after it's been pointed out to them.

Countering the Baddest and the Ugliest
(Shameless lovefest for OUR Guy!)

Let Us Have Music ~ 06-09-04

Let it be known that today, Wednesday, the 9th of June, 2004, is hereby declared *Music Day at the Finest*, and you may B.Y.O.M. or click on mine. I hope you dance, if you are so inclined; sing along, if the music moves you. Clap your hands, snap your fingers, tap your
toes.....but whatever you do, don't just sit there - move something*!

Texas, My Texas ~ 08-05-03

For the past several weeks,
we've been enjoying Mama Bear's cyber tours of various states of the USA, and she will be introducing even more as her time permits, until we've visited them all. As all our hostesses live in a different state, we decided that each of us would feature our own state, and today I'd like to invite you to *Waltz Across Texas* with me.

My Kingdom for a Horse ~ 11-21-03

Pippin's Fantasies ~ 10-24-03

This thread was about one of Pippin's ideas for a Finest thread - she told me some of her fantasies, and the illustrations and presentation just fell in place

In Your Easter Bonnet ~ 04-06-04

Spring is in the air, and sandals, shorts, sundresses and cropped pants are in the stores! Not to mention, Easter is just around the corner - another really good reason to go shopping. (like we really need a reason) :)
Easter is, in fact, *this* Sunday, and it is probably the only day of the year that one of the most feminine of accessories is worn: the ladies' hat, complete with flowers and/or feathers, veils, pearls, ribbons, bows. I thought it would be fun to get together a *Few of Our Finest* and see some of the hats they will be wearing this Sunday.
You know most of these, but if you're not sure about their FReeper names, just point your mouse at their picture.

Have a Wonderful Wednesday

But I must have missed the Texas one. It was really good and made me wish I could go there and especially to San Antonio and see the old missions and walk the River Walk.

Thanks, Pippin. The RiverWalk is one of the funnest places to visit - it's so pretty, and fun to people watch and the food is delicious there, too!

I also have those annoying floaters, not all the time. I tend to get them when I am very stressed.

Well, it's an idea, but I'm not sure I'll be up for it. I may be called up to serve on a volunteer basis on security details that day. So I haven't made official plans to attend and certainly haven't helped to plan it, but if I have enough energy I'll show up with a wad of $ and try to get in.

I just need to get my vacation time and money straight so I can go some day, *sigh*

I'm gonna try to be there, Kristinn and the DC Chapter of FreeRepublic have set up a couple of "Safe Zones" for Conservatives and Bush supporters.

You're welcome Billie. Yes, "Thanks for the Memories" is a great song. I can just picture Bob Hope singing it.
