These verbs all mean to weaken severely by removing something essential. Deplete refers to using up gradually and only hints at harmful consequences: The campers' food supply was quickly depleted. When I was a little kid sitting right in front of the big old color TV I recall some newsman saying that constant exposure to the rays of TV's was bad for you.
Well I stayed in front of that TV for years and no bad effects (other than no teeth, one leg is half the size of the other, bulge on my skull, half blind, etc) because TV doesn't cause bad things to happen.
Seriously, I recall the TV Tube scare, the Pac-Man game scare of the early 80's, cell-phone scare, powerlines scare, etc so now it is the DU scare.

You carry on about an invalid assumption about a substance you've probably never dealt with in your life, and then you back it up with a song lyric from En Vogue? You've GOT to be kidding me!
What an idiot...
