Kurdish sources and media are reporting that Iraqi security forces have captured the wanted Jordanian terrorist Abu Musab Al-Zarkawi. Zarkawi is thought to be the leader of much of the anti-American, Islamist insurgency in Iraq and a local commander for Al-Qaeda.
While official Iraqi sources have yet to confirm or deny, Arabic media outlets throughout the Middle East are repeating the Kurdish reports. IsraelNN.com
My bet is we have Zarqawi. He might well be on a jet to his new bunk at Diego Garcia. I'm not putting any money on the table but I think the Muslim and Arab media hav leaked what we had darn good reasons for keeping quiet for a while.
Bin Ladin and Cheney are having so much fun having beers together in the basement of the Naval Observatory that they decided not to trot him out before the election. Rather posh quarters he has there, I'm told by a reliable source.
Well... lets hope it is now.
Oh Praise the Lord!!!!
I'm not. Given his level of support in the US by Dems and creepy human rights types, he has a good chance of surviving.
What I would like is to see some old fashioned tribal justice for him.
Abu Musab al-Zarqawi terrorist arrested - per Fox news Whoa! Good news if true! Has this been confirmed?
Please let me know if you want ON or OFF my General Interest ping list!. . .don't be shy.
Is he or isn't he? Only his hairdresser knows for sure...
Not confirmed, and actually denied by anonymous sources at the pentagon.
I think it is not true...Not a word on TV since I first read this.

U.S. military and intelligence sources are denying print and broadcast reports that terrorist Abu-Musab al-Zarqawi has been arrested in Iraq, MSNBC reported Tuesday.
MSNBC said senior U.S. military and intelligence sources told it the reports are not true. A newspaper in the United Arab Emirates, al-Bayane, reported in its Tuesday edition that the Jordanian-born terrorist had been arrested in Baqouba, Iraq. Iraqi Kurdistan radio also reported the arrest of al-Zarqawi.
The U.S. military in December said al-Zarqawi likely is in the Baghdad area."
Meek, there have been no less than a dozen threads on this today. At last word, a White House spokesman had called the claim "dubious". I'm afraid it is not true, just a constant rehashing of one original source in a story released yesterday.
Thanks, folks. Drats!
Thanks. :^(Better luck next time.

Oh. I'm a bit behind the curve today, and I'm playing catchup on my comments.
I bet I'll be finding pings to me on some of those threads shortly. :^)

Al-Zarqawi arrested, says local media

KurdishMedia.com
London (KurdishMedia.com) 04 January 2005: Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, whom the US occupation authorities have declared to be "target number one" in Iraq, has been arrested in the city of Baakuba, according to local Kurdish media.
Al-Zarqawi, leader of the radical Islamic group Al-Tawhid Waal-Jihad, whom the U.S. put a bounty of US$10 million, was recently appointed the director of the Al-Qaeda organisation in Iraq.
KurdishMedia.com could not verify the report.
Well, it was nice while it lasted! Still getting a charge out of the prospect that the rumors freaked Zarqawi's henchmen, though :)
Actually, I think there is. I've spent some time thinking about this.
Record a special Girls Gone Wild starring Hilary Clinton, Madeline Albright, and Janet Reno, and force him to watch.
Shalom.
