SAN FRANCISCO — The city that bucked state law and sanctioned gay marriage is now taking aim at the constitutional right to bear arms by proposing a ban in San Francisco on private ownership of all handguns.

"When you get guns out of people's homes and off the streets, it means that that gun is not going to be used in a shooting that kills someone, whether a murder or an accidental shooting," said Chris Daly, supervisor of San Francisco.

Despite state laws that prevent local governments from banning handguns, the city believes doing just that will stem a wave of homicides that's left 87 people dead this year.

Yes, it has worked soooo well in Washington, DC, hasn't it?

What sort of drugs are these idiots on? They keep repeating the same mistakes over and over and over again and never learn anything from them. Absolutely stupid.

Chris Daly ... the guy who made appointments the day the mayor was out of town. A loon.

If this is the case, the closest I'll ever get to being in SF is going to the boat ramp of Pac Bell Park.

"I don't feel like I need to own a gun to protect myself. Certainly, I am a high-profile elected official and now a lot of gun owners don't like me individually, but if I'm in a situation where I feel threatened, I'll call the police," Daly said.

Actually now you can't have a carry permit now in SF.

Well, except Feinstein and one of her cronies.

This has been in the works for a while, is Fox just now reporting on it?

Someone please inform Mr.Daly that if you get vehicles off the streets it means that those vehicles will not kill someone. Also, if you super glue all knives into sheaths then they won't be used to murder someone or accidentally cut someone. And lastly, if you didn't have any supervisors in San Francisco we wouldn't be hearing such stupidity from those who think they are smarter than everybody else.

If a thug is pointing a gun at you, do you really think he's going to let you call the police? Do you really think at all? God save us from these fools.

What gets me about handgun bans is do these people think that criminals say to themselves "Hey, owning a handgun is illegal. I better dispose of mine." ?? These people are insane. Reminds me of NYC taxi drivers. NYC taxi drivers are banned from carrying weapons of ANY kind, even a toy gun if you can believe it (hey it`s NYC, home of Hitlery), yet I distinctly remember reading about taxi drivers across this country who saved their lives by arming themselves. One story I clearly remember reading was one cab driver stopped at a light and this guy walked up to the passenger side and tried to do a "shoot first then take the money" type of deal and the bullet miraculously missed the cab driver who then proceeded to jump out the door and blow the punk away before he could pull off another round. These freggin` liberals don`t understand, when they ban guns they are giving the advantage to criminals.

Like that nut who jumped on stage last month and killed that rock star, it was just by chance a cop happened to be near and blew him away before he could kill anyone else, but if he didn`t that asshole would have just reloaded and started shooting again and again.

Bums are allowed to relieve themselves in public in SF, gay bathhouses, but no guns. Brilliant leftist society they have.

Murder is against the law. If criminals will violate that law, commandment, and moral issue then what makes politicians think that criminals will respect laws that outlaw a murder weapon?

The crooks can get their guns (legally even, if they have not committed a crime) elsewhere and bring them to town.

It won't stop or stem crime. It will just trample on peoples right to self-protection and make them "criminals" under the new statute.

Too many Friscans are minty freaks or alien opportunists. The dregs of the whole country and a good portion of the rest of the planet have come here to celebrate their greed and hopes for a free piece of the American security blanket. Give any of them half a minute and you can get a free lecture on liberty and what it means to live up to the American ideals. Their ideals, taught by Marxist professors, drained out of Hollywood, and TV.

None of them have a solitary clue about Tarawa, Omaha beach, or Valley Forge, for that matter. None of them would admit that our true flag as the Gadsden.
