Official: Teacher Not At Fault For Student's Beating Videotaped Beating Took Place In Math Class
EATON TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- The superintendent of a school district in Ohio where a student beating another student was caught on tape said the teacher is not at fault.
Jim Rykaceski said the teacher was at the front of the classroom working with other students when the beating happened.
The video shows a 14-year-old student being beaten by a 15-year-old, police said. Another teen videotaped the entire incident. The 14-year-old was not seriously injured, but the two other boys were suspended from school.
The teens face assault charges and possible expulsion from school.
No, the teacher is not at fault. George W. Bush is!!!
Some teacher huh?
I used to teach and I can assure you I knew what was going on in the classroom at all times. This is simply not credible.
Actually this was caused by global warming who in turn is being caused by big corporations that incidentally support Bush.
That classroom must not have had a pink triangle sticker on the door.
When I was in school my teachers could hear you chewing gum with your mouth closed and this broad couldn't hear a fight going on?
The teacher should be charged as a co-conspirator.
Teacher is a male. Maybe that explains it. LOL.
Where does it say that?
Had the kid who got beaten shouted out "For God's sake knock it off!" he would have been expelled for "forcing his religion on the other students" and I bet the teacher woulda heard THAT.
The victim was quoted as saying "Oh, God, NO! Oh, God STOP!" so the teacher didn't want to get involved in their religious interaction fearing a chrch/state separation lawsuit I suppose.
13 seconds late with the "God talk" huh? I suppose great minds and all that.
Sorry. I read it wrong and thought Jim was the teacher, so I don't know the gender.
Not a problem, I read it three times after that afraid I was losing my mind because I couldn't find it. Hahahaha
Public school bump!

it's Bush's fault-even if the teacher watched it happen.
We here in MN had our own little kid getting beat down
video- there was no school official "outrage" until
the parents raised hell and then only because the parents
were on the TV news with video proof.

from the article:
Peebles responded, "I feel strongly about it and I'll take action."
Well, that superintendent is still employed...
Your instincts were right.
The video also has two other incidents, one of another assault and the other of a boy exposing his buttocks, according to the report. Those incidents are also being investigated.
Why is a student bringing a video camera to school?
The headline said crowded school, is it so crowded and disruptive that the teacher could not hear the student yelling for the kid to stop hitting him, no one notices a kid video taping a naked butt?
