Companies fingerprint new employees.

"We go this far, so why not go thiiis far?"

Perhaps if you'd lay down how far you're willing to go, we won't have to keep playing these leapfrog games.

"I wanted to see what people would post, without knowing this particular fact. It's very eye opening."

You have still not SAID that they were in fact photographed or printed - or if so, how you came by this knowledge.

It is interesting sometimes to throw out "bait" like that, but it does reflect on your qualifications in later discussions.

"It's just appalling," said Jean Tassi, 53. "If I didn't have on a head covering, I would have never been stopped."

Correction: if 19 Islamist hikackers had not murdered over 3,000 people, she would not have been stopped, because we'd still be wallowing in blissful ignorance.

As for American citizenship, the Lackawanna 7 are American citizens, Jihad Johnny is an American citizen, the beltway sniper is an American citizen and so is the creep who fragged the command tent in Kuwait. All of these people have two things in common....I wonder if she can tell us what they are?

If I was the least bit computer literate enough, I would have taken the four pictures of those terrorists and placed targets on their heads. But since I'm not, maybe someone will help me do it. lol

Do a google search. The article was in the Arizona Republic and the USA Today. In both article, it clearly states that they were fingerprinted and photographed.

I would say if people like our nationality were killing other people at a whim, then it would be justified.

And what would you say, if CBP did the same to you?

No problem. The DMV took my prints and photo, I've nothing to worry about

I've gotten the 3rd degree from the CPB, including being held and having my id checked, on more than one occasion.

It usually happens after the CBP asks, "do you or anyone in your family own a firearm, and, if so, how many and what kind... ?"

I got a similar grilling from CBP more than 10 years ago for the suspicious offense of having a Texas drivers liscense

Check out my post #66...I think I am on the cutting edge of new technology for Muslim identification at the borders...

Marine Inspector (Customs & Border Protection Officer)

Notice the Tag Lie.

I fingerprint and photograph people everyday. 500,000,000 enter the US yearly and there are less the 10,000 of us CBP Officers. Were quite busy

I've detained, questioned and searched more folks from the Middle East then I care to remember, but I find this to be the start of a very disturbing trend. Can you physically describe a Muslim to me? Who gets to decide who is and who is not a Muslim?

I have nothing to hide. Why should I be afraid to be fingerprinted? On principle? I also think one should show ID in order to cast a vote. Call me crazy, but it is just not a horrible thing to me to be identified by my fingerprint. I have not heard what your solution is to tracking immigration. Have I missed a post?

Interesting - from
http://www.cbc.ca/cp/world/041229/w122974.html

"I asked 'If I refuse to give my fingerprints, what will you do?' " said Galeb Rizek, 32, who claimed he arrived at the border around midnight and was held until 6:30 a.m. "(The agent) said, 'You can refuse, but you'll be here until you do.' "

It must run in the "family" - this agent appears to be threatening this person with unlimited detention unless they submit ... is this normal procedure ?

Do agents have legal backing to make these sort of threats, to actually hold them forever, or is it an accepted ploy to make the person submit ?

Personally, I find it disturbing that CBP is starting to detain and fingerprinting US citizens returning home.

What is disturbing about that? Sure it's an inconvenience, but what harm is there? Eye scan them too for all I care

Why do you assume that this is limited to only Muslims?

You know that Muslims don't care about minor details like gender...If you show them a young boy goat and they say "cute"...you're probably looking at an imam.

Not that I know off. I also don't know of any law that allows me to fingerprint US Citizens. I can site a few laws that say I can't.

As a CBP Officer, I find this to be disturbing.
