The Terri Schindler Schiavo Daily Threads are created month to month as we watch local and national news regarding Terri and her family.
Since Terri's supporters are in every time zone, you may see something FIRST. Please share news with us that you don't see here already. Now, why would you want to do that? Terri's Daily Thread for September/October of 2004 was viewed over 15,000 times. Terri's November Daily Thread was viewed over 6,000 times. December's thread is over 3,000 views.
More and more good folks are finding out about Terri and that judicial tyranny would take her life, but for lots and lots of prayer and non-stop lobbying of relatives, friends, clergy, our leaders, the media, a passerby, a cashier - ANYONE who you feel comfortable chatting with.
Folks always want to know how can this be in America or on earth for that matter? Unfortunately, this is really happening to an innocent woman who just celebrated her 41st birthday. She's not the only one but she's the one with devoted parents and siblings who knows what's in Terri's heart. Terri has a strong will to live. That's apparent. It's been 14 years.
Besides, feeding tubes have been around practically since the Civil War. They are not high tech devices. Terri is "not hooked up to machines". Her feeding tube is the diameter of a piece of spaghetti.
Talkin' about Terri is the best way to lobby for her. It is a salespitch to save her life and subsequently, many lives. If you've never sold anything in your life, START NOW. START WITH TERRI.

Terri is Catholic and left no living will. If she had felt strongly about dying, she would have made one. Furthermore, I can't imagine who would want to be starved to death -- it's a horrible way to die.
It is also scary that we can be killed on merely the word of someone who hates us and the whim of a judge if we become disabled.
In this case there is also an incredible amount of evidence of general corruption and disregard of laws.

Dehyrated is worse, and since Michael forbids water as well as food...
Stiil, another thing I wish courts could consider (though if they looked at anything reasonably, all of this would be a non-issue) is whether Terri's wishes would be applicable in this particular situation.
Even if Terri would generally prefer to die if she were incapacitated to the degree Michael is alleging, I don't think her desire to die would be so strong that she would want her loved ones dragged through to ensure that it was carried out. It would be one thing for her to wish to die if her circumstances were such that her live was causing nobody any pleasure and hastening her death would ease her loved ones' grief; it is quite another to suggest that she would wish to die when her loved ones want to take care of her and would gain happiness from doing so.

Do you happen to have the link to the website where O'Reilly had the interview with the woman who was wrongly diagnosed (like Terri) as having PVS?
I read that fantastic transcript a long time ago, & can't seem to find it again.

I will fax on Tuesday. It should be for any and all citizens and residents of the State of Florida though.
Try this:
Please do your best to save the vets, retirees, and others who have made themselves wards of retirement centers throughout Florida from being starved and dehydrated like Terri Schiavo, which will happen as a result of this precedent setting ruling, giving her fewer rights than a pet in the State of Florida.
Probably not enough whereas’s and heretofore’s, but the following is easy enough for any 7th grade student to understand, it protects all citizens, including illegal immigrants, legal immigrants, children, and disabled. It will suffice until a right-to-die law can be properly drawn, which should include the fact that the person must sign and it must be notarized that the person wishes to have assistance in their own deaths. This should not include starvation/dehydration/failure to provide medical care. In Oregon, no spouse, no guardian can make that decision for the person. If they don’t sign it themselves it doesn’t happen. And even so, only 1% of the decedents in Oregon have availed themselves of the right-to-die law.
