Stiil, another thing I wish courts could consider (though if they looked at anything reasonably, all of this would be a non-issue) is whether Terri's wishes would be applicable in this particular situation.
Even if Terri would generally prefer to die if she were incapacitated to the degree Michael is alleging, I don't think her desire to die would be so strong that she would want her loved ones dragged through to ensure that it was carried out. It would be one thing for her to wish to die if her circumstances were such that her live was causing nobody any pleasure and hastening her death would ease her loved ones' grief; it is quite another to suggest that she would wish to die when her loved ones want to take care of her and would gain happiness from doing so.
