Patrick Hynes, a freeper whose screen name is Kerry Crusher is scheduled to appear on Hannity and Colmes tonight. The topic will be the "Oscarworthiness" of The Passion of the Christ as well as (he thinks) some discussion of the "red/blue state" political ramifications of the movie. He's been told his liberal counterpart will be a movie critic who doesn't like the movie.

For those that don't know Pat is the proprietor of the websites www.crushkerry.com and www.passionforfairness.com.

His "real job" is as a media and campaign consultant for the GOP consulting firm of Marsh, Copsey & Scott He has been involved in several national Congressional campaigns, both for individual candidates and for the NRCC. He is also the former political director for the New Hampshire State Republican Committee, and recent reports indicate that Granite State Republicans are trying to woo him back to turn NH back to a "red" state.

can you believe this nonsense, LV? LOL!!

It is nonsense. And Mel will laugh all the way to the bank. I think he'd actually be disappointed if he was recognized by the Academy.

Whoa, they're back. The segment wasn't over yet!

Patrick did a very good job. It's not easy to do a tv appearance. I've done a few in a small way and it is nerve wracking. One of the things that impressed me about John O'Neill was how "ready" he was. Then again, I believe he's a trial lawyer and that would help.

Susan Sarandan played a nun against the death penalty....and that counts as a religious movie?

There is no other profession that awards itself as many awards as acting.

Patrick makes a good distinction between the fact that Mel isn't campaigning to have the film nominated, as opposed to Mel saying he doesn't want the recognition.

Nice one!

O'Neill is an idiot. Mel isn't in it for "the glory" of campaigning for winning a damn piece of statue. He's been there, done that.

Mel has "His Glory" in making the film. He doesn't, never has, and never will ask for Hollyweird's endorsement.

Gibson went outside the Hollywood establishment, Gibson is a conservative and it was about Christ. The critics have their 3 strikes. They can say all they want, they can talk about artistic this or that, or thay can get all their stooges to give whatever reason they want. They simple won't give an inch to Gibson and they can all go to h*** as far as I care.

On Fox -- they are speaking about past movies that featured religion, but those were different times ---- when Hollywood was not the secular dump that it is now.

Ha! Not surprising. A natural for arguing against the common thought.

That was my thought when he mentioned those movies from yesteryear. He didn't mention any recent movies because almost all of the recent movies with religion or religious themes have portrayed organized religion in a negative or mocking manner. Fools!

I hope so...those haven't been announced yet, have they?

The people have spoke. All 600+ million worth. Not to mention those who will see the movie in the privacy of one's homes on DVD.

Until then,we'll see you on another Passion thread for sure!

(Jay! you need Fox News!)

I want to congratulate Pat, my partner at crushkerry.com for his great performance tonight. He acquiteed himself quite well for his 1st time on TV (and what a way to make a debut - on the 2nd highest rated cable show in America).

I'll be speaking w/ him later and tell him to post a write up of the experience from his point of view. I also know he appreciated all the encouragement the Freepers gave him today when I posted he'd be on the show.

does not want to see one cent of US money to go to the UN. Aside from the fact that it is anti-American, it hurts people. It does immesurable harm.

If I lived in Guatemala, I might give to the UN to help these people. But my trust is in the United States of America.

We hung on all through that awful Nancy Sullivan and we were not disappointed.
