Times: Hillary's Toughest Opponent 'Herself'
Newsmax.com ^ | 12/25/04 | unknown

New York Sen. Hillary Clinton is already the frontrunner for her party's presidential nomination in 2008.

But to win the general election, she'll have to overcome opposition from a significant number of voters who absolutely can't stand her.

Survey after survey shows that approximately one-third of New Yorkers has a negative opinion of Clinton, the New York Times said Saturday.

"The voters who disapprove of Clinton are numerous and unshakable, and they have been around so long that they have a name in political circles. Hillary haters."

The former first lady's negative image is largely driven by the perception that she traded on her husband's marital misconduct to gain power and influence in government.

While Mrs. Clinton has largely overcome that image with her constituents, outside of New York the percentage of Hillary haters remains problematically high.

In a recent Marist College Institute for Public Opinion survey, roughly 4 of 10 Americans said they disapprove of her.

"There's work for her to do nationally," Marist poll director Lee Miringoff told the Times. "Beyond her appeal to the Democratic base, there is a need for her to build bridges to reach out to moderate Republicans and independent voters if she hopes to succeed."

Mrs. Clinton, however, remains undeterred.

Asked recently whether her divisive image has Republicans hoping that she becomes the Democrats' next presidential nominee, the former first lady told NBC's "Today Show," "We have a president who is quite polarizing - and very successful, I might add."

The Toons, unlike fine wine, do NOT improve with age.

Yeh you're right, but 'Ole Crusty' is beginning to smell like some great old French cheese with age.

Hill's being characterized as one of the big winners of '04.

I guess so, but I can't figure out anything she's ever done in her life that was competent or exceptional, except maybe hiring Betsy Wright of 'Bimbo Eruption' fame. Now that was a great hire.

I got the book "Matter of Character" as a Christmas gift. It is great reading. So far it gives a really unflattering portrait of Hillary and her vile husband. They are cruel, vindictive, snobby, dangerous people. She must be kept out of the White House at all costs.

By contrast President Bush, his parents, and the first lady are spoken of in very positive terms by White House staffers and friends. I sleep better at night knowing he is in power.

It is not only Hillary unfortunately. There are many of this ilk we must be ever skirmishing with to keep our freedoms.

I hear you. There are many, and Rockefeller is a bag of uppity crap leading them.

Here are couple more gems for your amusement.

The quote that makes me a Hillary hater is the one that Hannity plays all the time of a rant she had in a speech.

When he plays that I have to turn of the radio, now. It is like fingernails on a blackboard.

I wish I could share your optimism. Sadly, we have a history of electing Clintons....twice. The electorate is fickle....and easily swayed by name recognition. The "R" candidate in '08 will have to have even greater star power than Hillary, while at the same time being a real conservative, defense hawk, tax-cutting, upstanding individual, pro-life, and willing to run. I'm unaware of anyone in the "R" party right now who fits that definition.

Between now and 2008 we're going to see all kinds of articles about conservatives should not take her lightly, but I'm chalking them up to lib reporters trying to make her something she's not

Oh yeh?

Check out what Tony Blankley (not a lib) had to say about her on Newsmax last week!

I got mine and it cost them 37 cents for a stamp and more money to print the bumper sticker. When the proper time comes, it will go on my truck with a big black "NOT" printed across it.

I think I'll do the same!

Great joke by the way.......

ummmmmmmm, where I come from 2/3 or 60% still wins, no matter how deeply or permanently the remainder despises her.

Why just in the past 7 weeks, since the election, she's become a conservative Evangelical Christian... this woman will do or say anything to win.

A retired Air Force weapons engineer….”"I am deeply concerned that Hillary Clinton serving on the Senate Armed Services Committee represents a clear and present danger to our national security," said the weapons officer, whose identity NewsMax is shielding, in a letter received on Saturday.

"Considering all the sensitive information released by her husband's administration to North Korea and China, I have grave national security concerns about information that would be revealed to her and her staff regarding many of our most secret military capabilities," the Air Force whistleblower explained.

What is a “junior Senator” doing on this committee, especially Hillary Clinton – a military/national security detractor, not a facilitator.

People whom Hillary uses....and people who use her…
Harold Ickes, George Stephanopoulos, Bill Lann Lee, Sid Blumenthal... her fawning New Left Machiavelli, call their own political philosophy the politics of "The Third Way." , the feminists, the progressives.

Hillary & Saul Alinsky’s Rules For Radicals….[snip]: “my aim here is to suggest how to organize for power: how to get it and how ot use it.” …[snip] “Organization for action will now and in the decade ahead center upon America’s white middle class. That is where the power is.”

The first lady had obstructed government investigators and made false statements about her legal work for McDougal's S&L, particularly the thrift's notorious multimillion-dollar Castle Grande real estate project."……….. "The biggest problem was the death a month earlier of Jim McDougal.... Without him, prosecutors would have a hard time describing the S&L dealings they suspected Hillary Clinton had lied about."

The list is long and very telling about a woman who would and did do anything to gain power in our government…..what was the reason Ron Brown died?…..What was the reason Vicent Foster was murdered and who covered that up? The FBI files that Hillary used, a violation of law for most, but alright for the then first lady?

NO TO HILLARY IN 2008 OR 20012 – SHE IS CROOKED AND SHE IS CORRUPT.

THAT my FRiend is a keeper!! That has to be stored and brought back out and played loudly in 2006 when she tries to re-gain her Senate seat. It won't mean anything to the libs and dim heathens in NY, but that will ruin her chances if she is foolish enough to try for POTUS in 2008.

That is what I'm here for. I have about 50 of these gems for the election year and the runup to it. This must be a four year job.

I say we all intersperse gems like this into our letters to magazines, newspapers, and TV outlets, and emails to the same when we discuss Hillary in those venues.

Only by dropping zillions of these little gems all over the country in all the media can we have a decent chance to change the sheep's minds!

"We're going to take things away from you on behalf of the common good."

A 'Castle Communist' Hillary Gem for the 2008 campaign, indeed!

She should write it in bold letters on the outside siding of her Chappaqua home!!!

enemies are enemies for life and should be consigned to the outer darkness, then vaporized

I agree with her. Hillary has too much baggage to win a national election. Right now She is consigned to the outer darkness of New York. If she tries a presidential run she
will be vaporized.
Hillary has deep roots in the 1960's radical socialist movement which could be exposed with a swift boat vets type of campaign. Many of her "supporters" from that era have also risen to positions of influence in academia and government and are vulnerable to exposure. I expect that they will be content to "peddle their wares" from the sidelines.

"She's got four years ahead of her to make herself a defense and intel hawk, sponser legislation banning late-term abortion, stand up for the rights of christians, pass laws to kick out illegal immigrants, impose tort reform, privatize social security, call for school choice, and kick gays in the crotch." She can do all this for four years and I still wouldn't trust her with America.

Glad to see you're still around. Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas.

Two things if you don't mind, what did you think of that 'weird white, fluffy wig of hair' they stuck on G.W. on TIME magazine? And, do you know anything about the story of H. Ickes shoving a pencil in his ear years ago. I don't think it was quite along the bizarrely heroic lines of G. Gordon Liddy and the burning candle, but I remember there being something humorous there (only because he's a Dem.)

Great to hear from you again!

Totalitarian impulses flourished at the conference. Taking a page from Soviet psychiatry, some Clintonites suggested that Hillary hating might be a mental illness.

God, I'm sick.
