woah! You're good... The only prediction before it hit. And no, there are no warning agencies.

I had a wonderful former Muslim--one of the many descendents of the prophet . . . live with me for more than a year.

You seem to have no clue about what I was saying, much less what I meant.

I am watching video from the BBC website. The president of Sri Lanka said that the land had become so unstable from flooding that landmines and other unexploded ordinance from the war was becoming dislodged, hurting people and hindering rescue efforts.

As if they didn't have enough to deal with.

I'm increasingly of the conviction that these two quakes at this time of year in Moslem regions . . . are likely NOT coincidental.

Northridge and the Kobe earthquakes were on January 17th in successive years. Neither area was Muslim.

And this isn't a particularly Muslim-focused disaster. If you read some of the later threads, you'll find that 1,000 people were apparently killed in a church in India by the tsunami. God seems to have poor aim if He's sending messages.

I've seen a picture on yahoo whith a tidal wave in the background, and people running in the foreground. Anyone know if you can really run to safety in that situation?

Ihate it when God starts to flip his finger around on different parts of the planet. I am almost CERTAIN that this is because of something the United States has done. Obviously the whole gay marriage thing...perhaps Janet Jackson and her boob episode.

This is a plot by God himself...to overthrow one or more governments down that way.

This was all predicted in Revelations. God would get mad and start throwing sticks and stones because people were calling him bad names and not going to church three times a week.

God can be really mean.

This is obviously one of those times. Who knows perhaps he is pissed off because Kerry lost????? It is possible. Everyone knows that God is a Democrat (because they are the party of compassion).

Wake up America before he starts flipping buildings around again in New York.

/sarcasm off

That Civil War in Sri Lanka had petered to a halt but showed signs of getting restarted...hope the idiot suicide bombers among the Tamil Tigers and those of a more fanatical bent on the Sinhala Buddhist side of it can agree to a ceasfire for several more years.

I had an advisor in college who was a Sinhalese scholar. Sri Lanka really used to be a paradise.

Interestingly it's one of the many places that have made claims to be the location of the Garden of Eden. There's a series of small islands from Sri Lanka to the Indian Mainland called "Adam's Bridge" and I think there's some sort of footprint on a mountain that people claim is Adam's.

Esp. since knowing that tides are at the highest during a full moon.

I am far from knowledgeable on the subject of why tides change with the full moon but whose to say it cannot have effects on other earth activities.

Also I cannot ignore the timing of such a huge Earthquake on Christmas.

No I have no evidence that it is Biblically based but certainly it is of Biblical porportions, along with the freak Snow fall first in 36 years in So. Texas and the Biblical sized swarms of Locusts in the ME a month or so a go.

God only knows. Still a little hard for some of us, me, Christians not to ponder these huge/Biblical sized earth happenings.

AMEN! ABSOLUTELY.

And that God would spare anyone with any chance of finding a relationship with Him.

Nothing else makes sense . . . for those who truly think about the issues and priorities . . .

the true facts and THE TRUTH of God and His priorities.

I don't have any burning absolute from God about it. But it does begin to have a certain . . . "HELLO?!" ring to it.

People seem to have very funny notions about suffering. Especially those in rebellion against God for one reason or another.

I've been through several periods of extreme suffering in my life and been around plenty more in the lives of those close to me and masses more observed close at hand in a variety of Asian lands.

God would rather no one suffer and all enjoy HIS PEACE, HIS PROVISION, HIS WHOLENESS AND HEALTH; EVEN HIS WEALTH.

BUT

HE REQUIRES: SEEK FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS AND ALL THESE OTHER THINGS WILL BE ADDED UNTO YOU.

Man insists on doing things man's way AND ALSO EVEN THEN HAVING ALL THE GOODIES.

God is NOT STUPID, FOLKS! HE KNOWS VERY PAINFULLY WELL--having paid the price on the estremely excruciatingly horrible suffering on The Cross--He knows extremely well:

THE WAGES OF SIN = DEATH.

Sin is anything short of His Perfection; anything in opposition to Him; anything put in the place of God in a life instead of God. All that results in death.

ALL ****THAT**** RESULTS IN SUFFERING--SOONER OR LATER.

That's just the way God set the universe up. It is not insanity or evil or anything but redemptive truth to note the truth about how God set reality up.

God has declared that in our end times era, ALL THAT CAN BE SHAKEN WILL BE SHAKEN--and destroyed--is the implication. That will ultimately include in all the 'Christian' nations as well.

But it appears that God is beginning to attempt to get people's attention in the lands where the fiercest opposition to him is engendered by the Koran--a religion devoted to a demonic moon god.

No kidding. Did you in your diving holiday consider Christmas, or was the timing of your visit set for other reasons.

Glad your still with us.
Being unexpectantly swept out to sea because of a Tsunami would have escaped the best fact finding Freeper if one should bring up the fact that you had not been posting and wondering where you were, and ok.

I like to go over Thanksgiving, this trip started in Samui, which dodged a typhoon the day before I got there, the diving wasn't very good, then I flew over to Krabi, where it was excellent. I also did some ocean kayaking, I can only imagine what has become of them.

That depends on how fast you can run and how quickly you can above the height of the wave. Whether you avoid getting wet is debatable, but running is certainly a better option than standing there and waiting to be drowned.

To: hedgetrimmer; expatguy

I went to bed this morning (PST) with all this on my mind.

Dreaming of expatguy and being in there myself in the tsunami crying because my Labs were swept out and then back in, all the dogs I was pulling out of the ocean alive from my back door were not Kolbe, Porter or Hunter and sharks were circling along with fish that the other freeper here (hard screen name) has on his bio page of his last dive in the area.

My heart goes out to all who have been devastated by all this. Prayers going up.
