I'm going on a White House tour tomorrow morning with my daughter's Brownie troop and would like to ask some pointed questions of our tour guide regarding the status the White House was found by the incoming W administration. Thanks in advance. Thank is person will be offered at W2 ball.
"Did Hillary ever return the silverware, and if so, where is it?
I went in '84, It's real Quick.
Don't touch anything! :-)
Stay out of the ORAL Office.
In keeping with the Spirit of the Season, why not keep your focus and questions not about the past but the future?
It would provide a better example for your young group of people.
Have fun. (Is a WH tour really the right forum to ask your questions? Your tour guide is just a civil servant, not a partisan.)
"Where's the red button?"
Enjoy your Experience--we ENVY YOU!!
Doc
There are dozens of books and articles written about that sad period in our history, so do what an eighth grader would be expected to do -- look it up.......
It would provide a better example for your young group of people.
I agree...Brownies are TOO YOUNG to be witness to your hostile questions. There is a time and place for everything. Think of the kids...not yourself. They deserve a warm and inspiring memory...not your rant. Adults know what happened there. Think of what the girls will carry away...not your own satisfaction.
If you have any class at all you will not ask these questions...
I cannot believe that they still allow those tours. I had one back in the 1980s myself.
No cameras are allowed to be used, so just enjoy the three room tour. I still remember it vividly, but I went through in June, and so no Christmas decorations.
I recall noticing that the workers there seemed to be regular people, while those of us in the tour were completely enchanted by the experience.
Too bad for us the Reagans were not in on that particular day.
What would be the purpose of your questions regarding this or what do you hope to accomplish? Would questions of this type not serve to take away from the experience of the girls? You are there for them, correct?
Also, you realize you will be putting the person you direct the questions to on the spot.
I think that President Bush's intentions were to take the high road in this matter, by down playing it, as much as possible. This was the classy thing of him to do and an approach I would not have taken.
I would vote to let the girls enjoy the experience w/o any possible negativity coming up, as could happen with your questions.
If I were a parent of one of those girls and I found out you did something like that you would be in hot water with me.
For State Dinners, does Mrs. Bush utilize existing
Chinaware, or did she and GWB order new?
"Who hired Craig Livingstone?"
