A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

"I'll Be Home For Christmas"
I'll be home for Christmas; You can count on me. Please have snow and mistletoe And presents on the tree.
There may not be snow in Houston, but bet there are lots of happy faces there this Christmas, and I'm bettin' mistletoe won't even be needed. :)
Allegra, one of our own since February 25, 2001, has been in Iraq for almost a year and is home for her first R & R just in time for Christmas. We love bringing good news to the Finest about our troops and hope you'll join us today to give her a big, rousing, Welcome Home Surprise!
Thank you, Allegra, for your service to our country, and hope you get a chance to eat lots of Mexican food, drink plenty of cold beer, and get lots of lovin' from those kitties before you return to Baghdad next month. May God bless and keep you safe.

Thanks, Mixer!
1) Click on the graphic to open the Calendar. 2) Once there you can click on any month and even click to the right to go into next year. Once you are in the month that you joined FR you will need to click on the number in the calendar and then an add item screen will come up. 3) In the next box enter your name in the "Calendar Text" field and then click on submit. 4) If any of the screens fail to load simply click on refresh in your browser and that will usually fix it. 5) If all else fails or simply if you want me to do this for you send me a FReepmail and I will gladly do it for you. ~Mixer

(why were we doing the regular email, do you remember?)*You* started it! :-)
Actually, it started with my sending you an invitation to look at my pictures online and we just kind of left it in that mode.
I'm kind of anxious to hear what you think of our latest hare-brained escapades....LOL...I think I need a brain transplant.

I worked in the Rocky Mountains long enough to know that snow is not my friend. I'm just not fluffy enough.
If I never see another set of snow chains, it will be too soon.

Understand :)
It is very unusual for us to have a snow day this early in the season - they are far more common in late January and early February.

What a cute picture! The pup reminds me of my dog, Jack, when he was a baby. Glad I could stop by and welcome one of our own back home. You are a special person Billie, to throw this welcome home party.

Hi, girlscout!
Y'know, you gotta give God credit. He's been around awhile, and He's pretty doggone smart!
The anti-God crowd have been attacking our faith for years, but in small increments to which most people didn't take notice.
This year He put it in their heads to make an all out push to destroy Christianity and everything associated with it.
We're seeing the beginnings of a backlash which will restore God to His rightful place in our society.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND YOURS!

If you look right now, the scene in Fairbanks at 1:31 in the afternoon shows the sun will be setting in just a few minutes!!
Before 2 p.m., it will be pitch black dark again.
You really do lose all sense of "time" under those conditions --- often this time of year I'd shop at the commissary, going in in "light,' and emerging to the blackness and wonder if I was late to start dinner -- then see on my watch it was only 2:30..:))

Pretty.
But weird.
Pitch black by 2:00 PM would make me all off kilter.
