A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day....12-21-04....Welcome Home, Allegra!
Billie

A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

"I'll Be Home For Christmas"

I'll be home for Christmas;
You can count on me.
Please have snow and mistletoe
And presents on the tree.

There may not be snow in Houston, but bet there are lots of happy faces there this Christmas, and I'm bettin' mistletoe won't even be needed. :)

Allegra, one of our own since February 25, 2001, has been in Iraq for almost a year and is home for her first R & R just in time for Christmas. We love bringing good news to the Finest about our troops and hope you'll join us today to give her a big, rousing, Welcome Home Surprise!

Thank you, Allegra, for your service to our country, and hope you get a chance to eat lots of Mexican food, drink plenty of cold beer, and get lots of lovin' from those kitties before you return to Baghdad next month. May God bless and keep you safe.

Thanks, Mixer!

1) Click on the graphic to open the Calendar.
2) Once there you can click on any month and even click to the right to go into next year. Once you are in the month that you joined FR you will need to click on the number in the calendar and then an add item screen will come up.
3) In the next box enter your name in the "Calendar Text" field and then click on submit.
4) If any of the screens fail to load simply click on refresh in your browser and that will usually fix it.
5) If all else fails or simply if you want me to do this for you send me a FReepmail and I will gladly do it for you. ~Mixer

Wha-....is the spy cam going? LOL!

LOL! You didn't know you were being watched, did you? :) (It's your neighbors! They've also bugged your apartment.) :)

I'm sorry I haven't answered your last mail yet. (why were we doing the regular email, do you remember?)

I don't know where time has disappeared to.....I thought it was only yesterday that it was Thanksgiving.

It was - and the *last* Christmas was just a couple of months ago - I swear. :)

I do know how you feel though after a thread has gathered a few posts - sometimes it's just easier not to jump in than try to catch. :)

Billie,Your so right. When Karen arrived to Iraq they had to sleep on top of their vechiles. She said you get used to it.I guess this poem touched her too and that is why she sent it to me.

"In Houston?!!!! :)"

If my shaky memory serves me correctly, it was 1984 when we had the last flurrys. I don't think you're going to have to grease up the snow shovel, Allegra.

I'm in North East Texas right now. We're supposed to have snow flurrys Thursday night.

May 2005 be the year the silent majority is heard and we put God back as the foundation of our families and institutions.

Amen, Cowboy. :)

No matter how many times I think I've been to the grocery store for the last time ..... I have to go one more time because I forgot something. :)

Hubby knows I hate that feeling/situation and always calls me on his way home from work to ask if I need anything from the store. In fact he called a few minutes ago and suggested that he grab Chinese takeout for dinner, because we have to attend a school board meeting tonight and be out of the house by 6:45.

That is sad, too - we can't begin to understand what our men and women are sacrificing for us, and for a free world.
