The guy withdrew his nomination because he knew he had some background static. So why do people have to continue to smear his name with the attacks?

In NY – I suspect this was widely trafficked sotto voce, and I’m sure that Hillary Clinton and Chuckie Schumer knew – but figured that it was better to have him position so her could supply excess pork to the Big Apple. And if he wasn’t going to be cooperative? You get the picture.

 

I agree that he should have withdrawn (…the appointment/nomination, that is). But the true hypocrisy is not so much what he may have done – but those with whom it was perfectly fine as long as it was not publicly known.

Yeah, the guy turned out to be a jerk, but what purpose does this mudslinging serve? I think the media are just pissed that he said "uncle" before they had a chance to expose him and look like the public-minded heroes they aren't. Really disgraceful.

there are plenty of legitimate issues to dislike Rudy on, I am not saying everyone has to love him. That's what the primaries are for, the candidates make their cases, and votes are cast, and a candidate selected.

well, if the standards are marital fidelity, then maybe so. As I recall, Reagan was divorced, and I would bet that as part of the breakup with Jane Wyman, he may well have had an affair. So I guess that means he never should have been president.

Rudy did the background check. Or rather, Rudy vouched for the guy with President Bush, which was good enough for the president to announce the nomination. Once the real background check by the FBI began, all sorts of red flags began popping up. That's when Kerik conveniently came up with the nanny story as the reason for dropping out. Turns out it was too little, too late. Putting the words "Love Nest" and "9/11" together in the same headline is a New York City tabloid's dream.

Clinton deserved to be exposed for defaming the White House and Oval Office. And this guy deserves to be exposed for screwing his mistress on hallowed ground, in an apartment that was donated for the benefit of 9/11 rescue workers.

This guy is pure trash. We need candidates and cabinet officials with strong personal morals like our President, not sleazy New York politicians like Kerik and Giuliani.

Some of us don't like Kerik because there have been whispers about him over the last few years for a number of different reasons related to his various public-sector appointments.

Hey, look at the bright side . . . if he had been a Democrat, he would have been having an affair with a MAN.
