This site is a piece of crap. The Admins are completely selective concerning what is posted and who is banned.
You're banned for a simple expression of disgust, without racism or anything, yet we can see posted people flipping the finger, as well as animals and other creatures while vile anti-Semitic remarks and hatred are spewed forth on an hourly basis.
Rip this and screw off, Admins.

I would say that people are most often banned here because of their "flavor".
I have arguments with people here at times but the support and friendship is just unbeatable, especially for those of us living in blue states - we desperately need it! Without my local freeper friends I would be very lonely and probably go crazy.

The only ethnic group that gets lots of well deserved abuse here, are the Islamic extremists. Sure the Mexicans, Europeans, and all other countries get a little abuse, but that is more of a result of disdain of their countries policies.

Welcome to FR. Some people are just fighters and tend to make themselves into battlegrounds. Some people just seem to be unable to express their opinion without attacking others, no matter what the topic is. Some people continually break the rules and cause problems. (Jim Rob is responsible for legalities about what is posted here, remember.) Some people come here to post things which are flagrant and posted specifically to flame others.

I'm confused, I have heard of freerepublic before, but I don't recall where. I assumed that the banner on the front page made it a place where you could freely express yourself.
I do understand about annoying little people who come just to pick a fight but, thats part of free speech. I'd don't think people should be penalized for stating a difference of opinion in a debate.(I'm not making any assertions of any knowledge because I don't know what happened. This guy could be an antagonist.).
aside from a very small general statement of rules, I didn't see much concerning rules, any links to administrators to ask questions, or any defintions to the terminology used here,(for the record I should probabley tell you I'm not a republican but, I am non partisan, and got into many debates with 'anyone but Bush' people, and voted for W.).I dn't know what a troll or a zot is for example.
Also, I have seen posts in forums which seem dangerously close to bashing other groups, and someone posted something in this forum which sounded like it is acceptable to bash Islamics and europeans, (I'm a christian but, I have some Islamic friends. They are nice people, it's the radicals who are the problem.), and in this room it seems like people jumped on the opportunity to attack this guy without reprisal. This seems ununiform.
Alot of people are posting rules sarcastically, and I suppose I'm getting a more defined idea of what is allowed but, shouldn't the admin or someone else be advising him on what he did wrong and defining the rules better for him and with sincerity, since everyone seems to know who he is and what post got him kicked off.
The only people who are outright banned are those who come in and post immediately and say very outrageous things like this one began with.
Also they keep the addresses of those who sign up and apparently there are some who come, sign up and post something like this, get banned, and then return and do it all over again. In other words, they just sign up to post things and make us mad or something. They fully expect to be banned immediately. We call them trolls.
It's not really about bashing but about why you are here, and that's just my opinion.
Also you can learn a great deal here. I came here with a conservative lean and have strengthened it considerably since coming here.

The other cool thing about FR is we almost always have the news first. Just as we did in the above scenario.
Most often people are warned and given discussion in freepmail, sometimes it is in posts.
I got booted without any warnings or explanations that i was doing something wrong. Altough I suspect it had something to do with a response I gave to a catholic who made a statement in another forum who said something to the effect that all other religions were wrong and accused them of promoting homosexuality. I and some other people had pointed out the scandal surrounding the church, and I brought up some of the scriptures concerning celibacy. That was when I got booted.
I don't really have anything against catholics, i just disagree with the few who think there religion is the only true religion and all others are going to h---.
I could also have been booted for participation in a thread where someone posted asking if there was anything in the bible linking cain to the africans. I posted everything I know that it contains refuting that or that they are in anyway linked with anything that is unholy. The threatd was pulled.

I didn't return to be offensive but, to find an answer as to what I did wrong since I couldn't find anything on the sight that explained it.
I think I found my answer though. I checked out the post my Jim Robinson that was posted previously on this site. I agree with most of what he said. But there are things in it that suggest that this is not a sight of open discussion.
I don't have an issue with that, this is a sight for people with like minded views and places like that are good places to me but, I view disagreement as healthy too. It makes me reflect and reevaluate my own positions. This is how I learn from others since I can't always articulate well, what it is that I am missing.
Sometimes I here people say things I don't understand, but I,m not sure why. So I present my point of view and listen to theirs and we go back and forth 'til I 'get it'. Many is the time I've changed my position because I have learned something from them.
I'm thinking that is too easy to take me wrong and associate me with one of the deliberate antagonists you guys must suffer with. So I may bow out and save everyone else the irritation of educating me when I'm not understanding something.

no I didn't. They will be in my prayers tonight. Anytime I hear about the terrorists taking hostages, it breaks my heart to think what is going to happen to them. I'm to the point now where I can't read about it or watch the news when they are talking about it. Those people are beyond cruel.

I was posting here a couple years ago...but I lost my password and ID....it was really convoluted....so when I came back....my first post was a little traumatic....but hey....I DO love it when a TROLL gets "Zotted"....ok so I am a little sadistic....LOL
