Hi Jim,
My daughter Deebleu and granddaughter Naomi and I will be in D.C. on a flight from California on the 18th. We are staying at the Washington Plaza Hotel until Saturday the 22nd. Deebleu is wearing a formal ball gown, Me semi formal and Naomi who is 4 years old is sure this is all about Cinderella's Ball and is dressing accordingly. We know absolutley no one!
Oh, and we have an extra "Ball" ticket which we want to donate it to a Military personnel.

Jen and MrJen (Matt) are staying at the Comfort Inn just down the block from the Washington Plaza Hotel. We'll be there 4 or 5 days to do some sightseeing, but I forget the exact dates. I'm wearing a black beaded gown (with my fuzzy elephant slippers...). Hubby will wear either a tux or a nice black suit. Can't wait to meet y'all!!!

My son , JimWforBush, and I will be attending. We are staying at the Resident's Inn in Bethesda. Is there going to be any kind of get together the night before? We are taking the overnight train from Providence on Tuesday so we will have all day Wednesday to see the Memorials in DC.
I know my son was trying to get single people together for the Ball. Contact him if you are interested.

Good morning Jim.
Christopher M. Schuster and my lovely wife, Linnea will be staying at the Hawthorn Suites in Alexandria arriving the 19th and returning the 21st. I will be in a tux and my bride of nearly 6 months at that point will be wearing a beautiful blue gown. We took our honeymoon in D.C. back in August and cannot wait to return to the Capital and meet you and all of the wonderful FReepers out there.
Get the martinis fired up, we are ready and counting the days!

RoseD and DollyCali are discussing sharing a room - a bit out, to save $$. Not sure how many others are/can be involved. I am all for a "full room" for fellowship & for others who are finance conscious

Barring a change of circumstances, I will have to bow out. Which is a real disappointment to me, what with this being the election of a lifetime, the dawning of a new era, the confirmation of the Conservative Revolution. Hate to miss hanging with some FReepers, too.

I won't be going, but just as an aside, I went to the inaugural balls for GHWB41 in '88 and noticed how many "civilians" were wearing their medals, miniature medals or ribbons on their dinner jackets or suits. Do they do this at the Free Republic Ball?

Drango, we are going to Rock...and Roll to DC. I am taking a refresher course in "Driving By Braille" to prepare for the trek.
Bootless, it will be good to see ya again at the Ball. And Basil, I'm looking forward to seeing you and your husband again.
Pete W, it will be good to see you again and that's super your wife is coming too. Thanks for the heads up, Pete's Wife. Pete, I will never forget that taxi ride with you and SeekingTheTruth back from the Last Whitehouse Freep.
Hay Tami, tell John and Nicky I am bring the Unicycle...
I will probably have to bring chains too, it may be snowing at the Ball. Oh and I have some good *ahem* videos of some professional beginning Unicyclists, maybe I can get them shown at the Ball? Whatcha think...Oh and that's neat Nick and Shirley are coming.

I'm going with my Mom and Dad, and another more distant relative who lives in the DC area. We're staying at the hotel where the ball is, we were lucky and got a room there! hehe
I'm going to wear a suit but my dad is going to wear his tux. I'm not sure what the ladies are going to wear but I imagine it will be something "ball-ish". :)
Should be fun! I can hardly wait. :)

We will be staying in Alexandria, arriving on Jan. 19. Have family coming from 3 states, New York, Connecticut and Georgia. Some of us will be leaving on the 21st. Others will be staying longer, they will be attending the March for Life on the 24th.
LOL, ordered a gown online, thought I found the perfect gown (It said 'deadhead' as soon as I saw it) Well anyway, it was delivered last week and looks horrible on me. So...I don't know what I will be wearing :-)
