Whatever moron came up with this nonsense is obviously racist.
Perhaps they should join the 21st century, and realize that things have changed.
Do they want to keep living in the past, or move to the future, where all Americans have the opportunity to have high powered positions in our government? What IS their agenda? It certainly isn't change. It's obviously NEGATIVITY.
By the Kansas-Nebraska Act of 1854, both territories were potentially opened to slavery if the settlers there chose to have it. As of the 1860 census, there were only 28,841 people in Nebraska (not counting Indians "not taxed"--those living with their tribes rather than among the whites), and the total black population was under 500. I don't know how many of those were slaves. The pro-slavery types were devoting their efforts to making Kansas a slave state, not Nebraska.
Thank you Meek, I knew you'd come to the map rescue!
Really - thanks alot! I'm just still amazed at my state of MN with the big blue portion in the upper northeastern counties.
4 states were totally 'blue'...MA,RI,VT,HI.
4 states were totally 'red'...AK,UT,NE,OK.
4 red states had just one blue county...KS,NV,ID,WY
1 blue state had 1 red county...CT
The rest were mostly red by # of counties.
Dont miss #39.
My pleasure. bump! :^)
I live in Kansas and we learned that stuff in 8th grade. (before schools were ruined by liberalism)
