Ohio certifies Bush win, but some won't give up

Disgruntled groups talk of re-count, legal challenge

WASHINGTON - Ohio counties certified election results Wednesday showing that President Bush carried the battleground state Nov. 2 and with it won a second term.

But the certification did not seal the state results, and disgruntled groups alleging widespread vote fraud plan further action.

One coalition plans to seek a re-count. Another plans to file a lawsuit with the state Supreme Court today contesting Bush's victory.

Despite these challenges - and rampant rumors on the Internet that Republicans stole the election for Bush in Ohio - there is no proof of fraud, and there is no reason to think that the election is going to be overturned:

- The Democratic presidential candidate, Sen. John Kerry, conceded Ohio and the election on Nov. 3 after his aides concluded there was no reasonable chance for him to overturn Bush's margin there of 136,000 votes. He has refused to join the challenges. Kerry's campaign has filed one legal brief arguing that if there is a re-count, it should include all Ohio counties.

- A federal judge has blocked efforts to start a re-count quickly.

- Any re-count would not start until Dec. 11. That would leave only about 24 hours to find enough invalid votes to reverse Bush's victory margin before the state's presidential electors cast their votes for Bush on Dec. 13.

Official results from the state's 88 counties were sent to Secretary of State Ken Blackwell on Wednesday. He is expected to certify the statewide tally on Dec. 6 showing that Bush won the state.

New DNC ad:
Are you delusional? Are facts useless to you? Do you live in a fantasy world? Is logic a foreign concept to you? Is smug, self-righteous sanctimony the only reason you get out of bed in the morning?

Then, you my friend, are a Democrat.

Send us all your money.

I think we need to airlift emergency copies of "Moving On for Dummies" to these wackos before they hurt someone.

It's the seriousness of the charge, not the nature of the evidence......

Unless the dems can come up with "proof" that stands up in a court of law and is prosecutable (and of course they can't 'cause it's not there) which would merit the results being overturned, their bellyaching amounts to nothing more than baseless, bitter, sore loser accusations.

I was just lurking over at DU. Several of them are beginning to face the reality that their dreams of meaningful recounts and proving election fraud are over. Some are even demonstrating the capability for rational thought strewn with hints of logic. They are really bummed that the provisional ballots didn't dramatically close the gap and that the vote is going to be certified with a seemingly insurmountable Bush lead.

Here is my prediction. They will soon get off the election fraud bandwagon and instead throw their energy into an impeach Bush effort. It will get to the point where they will be compiling all of the reasons as to why Bush should be impeached on various blogs and frantically wondering when the "mainstream media" will begin picking up on the story. They will then profess their belief that the reason the MSM won't cover the "obvious" crimes is because the media is controlled by big corporations who are part of the sinister right-wing cabal. In the meantime, the Republican Party will most probably increase its majority in the Senate during the 2006 midterm elections, sending the left even deeper into a delirious rage. We'll then get more empty talk about vote fraud, revolutions and leaving the country. This will continue until a democrat is elected in the 2008 primary and the radical left becomes gleeful about their candidates impending victory.

I am hereby declaring that the official term for this historically verifiable phenomena shall henceforth be "the cycle."

One of the DUmmies had a post on today's Ohio vote results certification that was headlined "As I sit here with tears in my eyes". She goes further to say "We can't survive another 4 years. The world can't. Why can't the voters see that."

Well, Little Miss Muffett, we can't see what you see probably because we're not blessed with your brilliant insight. We're merely red state morons who've somehow stumbled into control of the House, the Senate and the White House. Oh yeah, and the Supreme Court is next.

I do not see the visions she sees in her mind, and I don't hear her little voices either.
If you don't think you can handle it, get your behind on a plane and leave. We are tired of listening to your whining.

I read that thread cover to cover. It was precious. It was DEMented. The lowest common denominator among DUmmies is that they are fantasists of the first order (masochism running a close second).

Today's monkey jug o'fun is the postin' feud between Keith Oddermann and BBV. "Cannibalism -- it's what's for DUinner."

When even the liberal media abandon the conspiracy theorists, it's time for another celebration.

Ohio will never become another Florida. Ohio has excellent bi-partisan elections officials and non-activist Supreme Court justices.

And there will be three more tsunami of tears to come; when the vote is certified, when the electoral college votes, and on January 20.
